Maybe Harvard should make ethics mandatory before you can start the rest of your education?

Like the amount of world ending evil that's come out of there is astounding.

Americas capitalism-fueled narcissism is terminal. You can tell because they elected a child sex-trafficking pedophile, financed by a Russian dictator... and they can't ban guns, but they can ban video games... and they can't fund health care or education, but they can wage eternal culture wars, and cut taxes for billionaires.

"Financed by"? That's Putin it mildly.

to be fair, they're drop outs, not graduates

I mean I did not go there but I find it hard to believe they don't have an ethics requirement given the age of the institution.

Then they should beef the education up. Because clearly it isn't working.

Knowing what’s right and wrong doesn’t mean you care

Its ok to punch anyone wearing these

If people keep making consumer spy products I'm gonna start making consumer anti-spying products.

Take Benn Jordan's anti-AI noise generator, stick it in a pair of stylish glasses with ultrabright IR lights. Boom.

Nothing scarier than a headline with "Harvard dropouts"

Snow Crash is the torment nexus that keeps on giving.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that we KNOW it's going to enshittify and sellout our data in a year or two, this would be a great product.

I'm pretty sure recording every conversation around you is illegal in several states.

Also who controls what information it shows? Someone says Trump and does it show a flattering or true summary?

This is a terrible idea

Eh, I have partial face blindness. I'm happy to just get a popup reminding me who I'm talking to and what the context of our last conversation was.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 2 points 4 months ago

oh man oh man. that would be awesome. I hate how incredible our technology is while being done with maximizing dystopia in mind.

I should have the right to not have my voice or likeness recorded and sent to some unknown, private company without my consent.

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Isn't your reaction pretty much because you know they're going to enshittify and abuse your data?

[–] tiredofsametab@fedia.io 2 points 4 months ago

Not necessarily. Maybe because I'm old, I don't think being out in public and having that delivered to an audience way bigger and further outside that area without consent is right. If I'm walking by in a shot or something, I don't mind at all. But if it's someone sitting nearby when I'm at a restaurant or bar or something, that starts to get weird for me. I did also have a stalker once which definitely did shape my view on this more.
