Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

it's wild when you realise that jd vance is literally a yale elitist who pretends to be a rube in order to sell books because he discovered rubes by anything.

"Buy anything" makes more sense though

I saw it expressed well on a photo of a protest sign from January — JD Vance puts his cast iron skillet in the dishwasher.

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 86 points 1 month ago

Also before anyone claims it's not a war crime.

War crimes also included deliberate attacks on citizens and property of neutral states, such as the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. As the attack on Pearl Harbor happened while the U.S. and Japan were at peace and without a just cause for self-defense, the attack was declared by the Tokyo Trials to go beyond justification of military necessity and therefore constituted a war crime.

Tell me you have no idea what the purpose of a country's military is without actually doing so. Vance is a disgrace to those who once served.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 61 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

No, that's a lie. Vance knows perfectly well what the purpose of the US military is, and is intentionally trying to pervert it.

Stop giving fascists undeserved benefit of the doubt; that's what they abuse to seize power.

Securing access to foreign oil reserves?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 10 points 1 month ago

Securing more wealth for the oligarchy but sure that's part of it

Surely he mean these cartel members?, because they're the only ones poisoning everyone...

[–] Karjalan@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Or the drug cartel that supplied all the opiates that poisoned and killed millions in the US?

[–] Reannlegge@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

No those cartels have paid him off. I wanna say that is a, uh umm, a bribe!

[–] P1nkman@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Bribes are illegal. They just call it lobbying to make it legal.

It is not like we do not have the capability to take these guys alive and throw them into the criminal justice meat grinder. It would be better press for them.

But they are trying to set precedents. Leading up to grabbing American citizens and disappearing them, or just summary execution. That is exactly where they want to go.

[–] Poppa_Mo@lemmy.world 38 points 1 month ago (1 children)

We should be 0% surprised about JD Vance being a keyboard warrior.

This fuckpuppet is new at cosplaying a tough guy.

The Krassensteins aren't random citizens, they're terminally online shitposts.

JD Vance is playing straight into their hands if he's been baited into responding.

[–] AWistfulNihilist@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Not according to that ratio, fuck. Twitter, the voice of the voting American public.

[–] piccolo@sh.itjust.works 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You cant trust any numbers from xitter. Musk pulls all the switches.

[–] Catoblepas@piefed.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 month ago

Also aren’t 80% of their users bots?

[–] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 14 points 1 month ago

The idea is probably to trigger a small war. It's not the first time some leader is doing a war as a distraction and to give the people a common enemy. Some also like to send the people they don't like to that war. It usually works in short term and ends in disaster in long term.

[–] Montreal_Metro@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 month ago

An exchange between a citizen and a random vice president.

[–] Cybersec@piefed.social 11 points 1 month ago

Vance is so hateable. Is he so despicable on purpose, the more he triggers decent people he hopes he’ll get a cadre of rabid followers who like such triggering?

[–] Zaphod@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I sincerely hope the Military is not gonna put up with shit

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Well, they already fired on a boat full of foreign civilians. They'll put up with anything.
