They may just "Weekend at Bernie's" this shit as far as they can take it.

I'm calling it now. If this keeps up, they'll roll out AI-based addresses and propaganda in his image for a while before they have to face the music. The biggest tell is that if they use his voice, it'll be cogent, understandable, and to the point.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 10 points 6 days ago (1 children)

They already tested the water with the med bed AI video where he spoke too clearly. When they got caught they deleted it.

[–] DozensOfDonner@mander.xyz 3 points 6 days ago (2 children)

A what bed AI vid? Sorry, EUan here, i missed a few episodes, what happened?

The unholy intersection of snake-oil medicine, AI, propaganda, qanon, and cult-of-personality politics. As someone living here I'm nauseated, and frankly a little scared, that this even got the green light. It's clearly AI generated, but if you're not paying close attention or are unaware that AI is this good now, it's passable.

He promoted a magic bed that cures everything but the evil liberals won't let us have it. RFK Jr has two.

Yeah and if the CK thing was any indicator of how it’ll go, the administration will milk it for all it’s worth. It’ll be gross.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 91 points 1 week ago (8 children)

I hope he dies in the stupidest, self-owning way possible, like tripping over his own feet and falling down some stairs. Preferably on camera.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 2 points 6 days ago

Oh definitely the stairs, since that's the "frail old man" tell that he seems most afraid of. And with nobody anywhere near him, and on a beautiful clear day with no wind and no sun in his eyes.

It has to be clear as day that it was a failure of his body and not foul play or trickery.

[–] Flisty@mstdn.social 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)
[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 1 points 6 days ago

An escalator that's temporarily stairs? Nah, then they'll blame whoever turned it off.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 41 points 1 week ago (1 children)

i want him to be eating on camera and then accidentally elvis himself

During one of his dumb speeches in front of a crowd of MAGA idiots ..... right in the middle of making one of his dumb statements, just suddenly stops, stares into space and falls over.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

Because he is so awesome Lord Jaysus took him from us too soon.

[–] TheseusNow@lemmy.zip 26 points 1 week ago

Preferably saying something stupid like "Folks, let me tell you something — if I’m wrong, if the Republican Party is wrong — and by the way, we’re not — but if we were wrong, then may God strike me down right now! But it’s not gonna happen, because we’re doing what’s right for America. Believe me."

Love to see how they would try to spin that being his last words.

Unlike with CK though, they won't be able to hide or contain or threaten the millions of people who will take to the streets celebrating. THAT is the part I look forward to, the absolute, uncontainable movement of the masses defying the state and all it's impotent rage.

[–] renrenPDX@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Honestly I don't see that happening. Even with his passing, that really doesn't change anything. The administration is still there, and 2nd in line is couch-fucker vance. The foundation for their plans are already in place, and quite frankly, Taco has served his purpose with his popularity declining.

The administration will just use any uprising as a reason to mobilize more troops in the name of safety or whatever. I really wish I'm wrong though.

JD doesn't have the political capital Trump has had which has been the reason Trump gets away with shitting in the faces of everything and everyone.

He has a feverishly devoted base of armed, loyal voters who will support ANYTHING he does. That's raw political power at a foundational level. Nobody understands how he does it so they keep jockeying people like Vance into the spotlight hoping to be able to take the reins.

But Trump's base hates Vance. He talks too much, he sounds like a politician, he has no swagger like Trump does. The magic will go out when the dim light goes out of Trump's lousy life.

I don't think birds will sing and sunbeams will wash the country clean or anything, but the end of Trump will be the beginning of the decay of the republican party. They have no leader with the same political capital. About the only person who had a chance of introducing his own brand of charisma to flute the rats was Charlie Kirk.

Trump dead before Dec. 20, take your bets

[–] dipcart@lemmy.world 114 points 1 week ago (5 children)

Christmas Day would be the ultimate present. Oh you don't like us celebrating on the day he died?? Who's waging a war on Christmas now?

I'd honestly put money on him not making it to term, but that might be the safe bet. The thing is, that leaves us with Vance.

Some folks here believe once Trump is dead, his empire will pass onto someone else. I couldn't disagree more. Every time someone tries to do what Trump does, it's a big flop. It will all unravel with him gone. It's called a cult for a reason.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 2 points 6 days ago

You may be 100% correct, but I would still fear that the corruption soaked deep into our institutions by this bonkers insane second term would enable the fascist train to keep rolling and take us on the rest of the ride we've already started. Everybody around him is appear running the administration.

Maybe if the timing of the passing of the empire is favorable we might have some elections that seem valid maybe?

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 22 points 1 week ago (4 children)

MAGA is a Cult of Personality, and there is no #2. Plenty of people feel like they are the obvious successor, but NONE of the MAGA followers believe that. They worship Trump, and Trump alone. When he dies, MAGA dies with him.

When he assumes room temperature, the knives are coming out, and the backstabbing will be glorious. All the Dems have to do is stay out of the way.

His past few vids were not even very convincing AI, he's barely hangin on. When I was a kid my dad's friends would joke about the decripit soviet leader being strapped to a 2x4 and dragged out for public appearances. Well well well how the tables have turned

[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He was referring to Breznev. In the late 70s he was in terrible health and was hospitalized but no soviet media talked about it. There was a joke that Russia TV was just a ballet channel due to the constant playing of Swan Lake to fill in the time.

When Trump dies, how long do you think Stephen Miller will try to keep it quiet?

Trump needed the presidency to keep him out of prison. Steven Miller needs Trump's protection so 8 year old girls don't take his lunch money.

[–] normanwall@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I read the below recently from Millers wife and can't help but think that he is the lamest attempt at a villain I've ever heard of. Genuinely one of the most pathetic people I've ever read about.

"He is an incredibly inspiring man who gets me going in the morning with his speeches, being like, 'Let's start the day. I am going to defeat the left, and we are going to win,'"

I don’t want him to die yet.

I want him to live long enough to face all the consequences of his every criminal action. I want him to die in prison after losing everything. After watching his entire criminal family jailed, his buildings and golf courses sold, and his name forever marked as the despotic maniac he is. Even then, it would not be sufficient justice.

[–] KaChilde@sh.itjust.works 29 points 1 week ago

We already know that isn’t going to happen though. The smug raisin was impeached twice, has raped children with Epstein, and is currently declaring LGBT+ and their allies as terrorists. If those things weren’t enough to have him locked away, what will be?

I honestly think the most justice we could hope to see would be his bloated, festering body finally giving out on him on national television. But I doubt his retinue will give us that joy.
