Donald Trump will likely name his new $300 million White House ballroom after himself, according to senior administration officials.

Already, officials are referring to it as "The President Donald J. Trump Ballroom." That name will likely stick, ABC News was told.

Trump has not publicly said what he intends to name the ballroom, but he is known for branding his construction projects after himself -- and it appears this project will be no different.

Trump Epstein Ballroom. Best Friends Forever

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 8 points 21 hours ago

Prediction: The Ballroom will never be finished. There will be construction zone where the east wing used to be for the next decade and a half

The "How to funnel 300 million dollars into the pockets of my business friends -ballroom"

[–] Glytch@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What's the point of this story? Everyone already knew that. He puts his name on literally everything he can get away with. It would be news if he was planning to name it after anyone else.

[–] leftzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The point is that they want people to stop calling the Epstein ballroom the Epstein ballroom.

[–] HurlingDurling@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

But is sounds so... Appropriate

[–] myfunnyaccountname@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago

Next president, assuming we get one, should complain, very publicly how ugly and gaudy it is. Then either bulldoze it. And also plant grass in the garden again.

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

Whatever. Trump is super modest, he would never slap his name on something. He has too much taste and gravitas for such petty things.

Future generations will treat it as a public bathroom.

I'm hoping that one day it will be a Smithsonian museum of White House history, including an exhibit of everything Trump destroyed to build his guilded monstrosity. Something tells me it won't happen, even if there is ever another Dem in office, because the Dems are still pathetically hung up on decorum and would never do anything so direct to slight a previous administration. Still, nothing would make Donnie seethe more than seeing this space opened to the riff raff.

The Grand Shitbag Masterbatorium?

[–] Rcklsabndn@sh.itjust.works 52 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The Epstein Memorial Gilded Rapetorium.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well that's just misleading.

It should be the child rapetorium

[–] Rcklsabndn@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

This is why we need big idea dudes like you in power.

Reminds me of a shitty Russian palace. If and when the USA returns to sanity, the next leaders should ask the voters if they want the damn thing demolished and bring back the Rose Garden too. Of course use union labor.

Agree, it should be named after him

the Trump-Epstein ballroom

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

wanna bet hes going to just pocket most if not all the cash, instead of building it. the estimats for the cost is up to 350mil right now.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 43 points 2 days ago (2 children)

IF we ever take our country back, the first thing we should is tear down that monstrosity, and replace it with the original plan, and charge him for the job. After all, he never asked permission, he just took a bulldozer to the most iconic building in America.

[–] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 2 points 19 hours ago

I dunno, have you seen how big that thing is? You can fit a lot of guillotines in there.

[–] FatCrab@slrpnk.net 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Convert it into a museum dedicated to memorializing and studying America's greatest failings and violations.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 19 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I would prefer it becomes a sort of cautionary museum, about how vigilant we must be to protect our country from traitors and criminals who want to exploit it. We can call it the Trump Museum of Treason.

But no, he loves his name too much. I am of the mind to erase all mention of him from history, the way the Pharaohs would chip their predessessors names from their monuments.

He can be referred to as He Who Must Not Be Named.

You mean the Epstein Ballroom?

[–] SaltSong@startrek.website 106 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No-one is every gonna call it anything but the Epstein ballroom.

[–] Inaminate_Carbon_Rod@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The republicans will.

They will then use their media arm to accuse us all of something sinister hoping the name won’t stick.

The name will stick

The Epstein Ballroom.

We'll be using the donors assets to tear down this eyesore when it's all over. Doesn't matter what he calls the Epstein Ballroom

[–] etherphon@midwest.social 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Might as well just name it the Lol Fuck You Poors Ballroom, because that's exactly what it is and says.

It is a Pedo-criminal House now, the white washed legacy of the USA.

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 34 points 2 days ago (6 children)

Why does the White House even need a Ballroom? Do they throw many balls?

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 26 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The only dance they'll allow is the Presidential Double Handjob.
