if they had just pursued a degree in pet play instead of whatever they majored in, they wouldn't have anything to complain about.

[–] NaibofTabr 78 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

would that be... a pedigree?

[–] rem26_art@fedia.io 9 points 3 weeks ago

Absolutely! lmao

[–] Rooty@lemmy.world 14 points 3 weeks ago

Oh shit, didn't even notice it's a dog bowl, I thought it was a commentary on not being able to affort better food.

Also, we're not buying the OnlyFans

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 14 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

Wait, you need a DEGREE for that?

Am... am I in trouble? Do I have to pay a fine?

[–] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 3 weeks ago

You just need to go to doggy school

[–] rem26_art@fedia.io 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Officer!? This one right here!

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 2 points 3 weeks ago

Nooo, I'll behave, I promise 😭 !

well now you have a degree and some mac and smack in a cool bowl.

id say things are on the way up.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 30 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Looks like a dog bowl. If you're giving dogs Mac and cheese, I'm not sure where that puts you on the socioeconomic ladder.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 11 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

What are you saying dogs aren't cool? Plus you gotta be like, rich to have a dog or something.

[–] missingno@fedia.io 35 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I got my degree eight years ago and still haven't been able to use it. Every job opening that claims to be entry level actually wants five years of experience in something that came out two years ago.

[–] NickwithaC@lemmy.world 35 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Just say you have five. Clearly no one's checking.

[–] Xanthobilly@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

If you do, use the Circuit City/Toys R Us trick. Pick an out of business company for your CV so they can’t check references.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

As someone who actually worked at a radio shack towards the end, but got fired cause I'm not big into backing down and one of the old heads didn't like me cause I moved fast. Not a physical fight, just a verbal confrontation.

Like John, my brother in Christ. You weren't getting commissions for like a year before I even started!

But I kept the name tag for poops and laughs.

Definitely no giggles!

[–] Asidonhopo@lemmy.world 23 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I am once again reminded I am unable to see a picture of mac and cheese and not prepare it for myself immediately. Thank you.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

Alright, Mr. Moneybags. No need to gloat.

Puppymode: ON 🐶

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 13 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

Not gunna lie. Cheap ass Mac and cheese with some actual butter(assuming you have that much) is like way up there in the on the "ACCEPTABLE" chart for me. I sometimes throw in a can of Rotel and/or some cheap chorizo for a little taste of home.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I make ramen like this, drain the water, add butter, seasoning pack, and sriracha. So good.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 2 points 3 weeks ago

Sounds like something I'm going to experiment with today!

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Is butter that expensive in the US? Where I live it's only a bit more than margarine.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 6 points 3 weeks ago

Not really. But if people are complaining about eating out a dog bowl, their situation may be worse than ours. I know I used vegetable oil before in college. It's serviceable, but don't recommend it

[–] HalifaxJones@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

My fancy boxed mac n cheese mix is mixing the powder sauce with smoked Gouda and Parmesan. Real butter. Mixing it into the cooked pasta. Then adding sauted brussel sprouts and some parsley onto it.

🎤🎶”Mac my bitch up…”

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 7 points 3 weeks ago

Not in cooking, apparently.

[–] Credibly_Human@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

This is just some fetish shit.

Ain't nothing wrong with someone educated enjoying being a pet

Bit weird to share it with the whole internet tho

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I have a degree and a six figure salary. I like KD.

[–] ryedaft@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah, but you hopefully feed your dog something better

[–] tiramichu@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 weeks ago

Bad puppy! Get that bowl off the couch and down on the floor 💢

[–] 1985MustangCobra@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 weeks ago

im not even gunna ask why they are eating out of a dog bowl.....

Does it matter? The US graduated over 2 million people with bachelor’s degrees in spring of 2025. How are all those people supposed to find jobs?

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 3 points 3 weeks ago

The important thing is they're all up to their eyeballs in debt. Teamwork makes the dream work.

[–] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Of course it matters, some degrees are in way higher demand than others

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Like whichever one doctors have!

[–] wesker@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Yes, why wouldn't it matter? Do you think economies maintain demand for every conceivable degree equally, year after year?

[–] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

My implied claim here is that there are more people graduating with degrees in every major than the economy can fill jobs for in any of them. Youth unemployment is rising! Trying to find a job is really difficult and even degrees once thought “safe” (such as CS) have stingy employers who think AI will replace the need for training fresh graduates.

You might think “oh that’s fine, people who studied other subjects won’t care about CS people.” But if those CS grads can’t get CS jobs they’ll look for other jobs, increasing competition in other fields. This can have a domino effect throughout the youth job market.

Information Security and Computer Science double major

[–] wesker@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

The person in the image does?

EDIT: I found their profile and can't unsee a lot of things now.

[–] osaerisxero@kbin.melroy.org 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Lmao, it was a cold read but the IT sector cannot escape the Transfem and/or Femboy and/or Furry allegations for a well documented reason.
