Trip to the beach this morning was interrupted by another car trying to do a u-turn into mine. Thankfully no one was hurt, but my poor little Beastie car is messed up :( letting insurance deal with it, we'll see whatever they decide.

Oh no! Glad you’re ok. Bad time of year for crash repairs, probably lots of places are closed. Hopefully you don’t have to wait too long.

Cats fed and watered 🌿

I got picked for this karaoke competition at this place Stay Gold in January.

Kind of exciting!

We are spending the day in here I think

[–] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Ooh is that the 7th January? Do you want/need a cheer squad?

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'll be there whether he wants me to or not, so you should as well πŸ˜‚

It's the 21st and would absolutely love a cheer squad!

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Always found it funny w/ my old kitty that she'd just sit there whilst I was making a god awful distorted mess of a choon completely unfazed.

Then as soon as you play a video w/ a kitty noise she'd freak the f out.

Same! If I watch any kind of random cat clip on my phone she high tails it the fuck out of there real fast lol

What a shmexy guitar and a beautiful cat!

Yay for the karaoke competition!

Bought Mickey a mini cat tower (like a pedestal really lol), and a scratch mat. He's had the zoomies since,

now he's resting

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 6 points 1 week ago

Merry Christmas to Mickey!

What a handsome guy.

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Waiting for this cool change to come before deciding if I want to go out. Terrible sleep even under the aircon, so I'm not feeling very motivated at all.

So.

The deep clean continues.

I'm only doing a little at a time. Another week and I should be done.

[–] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 9 points 1 week ago (4 children)

I leave in a few days and I'm scared shitless, but also super excited! I'll get to see my friend after a year apart, experience some cold weather, see snow and eat one of my favourite cuisines. Time to start packing.

[–] tone212_@aussie.zone 5 points 1 week ago

Eeee so excited for you! The fear is normal, once you are at the airport and checked in, you'll feel great about your decision.

Left the house at 6:45. Got a camera alert a couple of hours later of movement in the house, and surely enough, dog was caught peeing on the couch. It's always when we aren't home or at night he goes inside. He knows to go outside every other time, and has his own door.

My mum thinks he's doing it out of spite because he's being left alone. Perhaps he just doesn't like going outside when no one's home because he has to keep watch if anyone comes in. Who knows.

All I know is that I shall buy him belly bands.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Dogs don't do spite. Not feeling safe to go outside when no one is there is much more likely.

time for new sofas and plastic coverings

and pee pads in the laundry for the dog if he doesn't want to go outside

Rat trap has gone off. No deceased rodent. Time to sacrifice some of the precious peanut butter.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm editing all the beach pics I took this year. Will do a small slide show of the best later. 🌞🐚🌴

You have officially summoned big kev.

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

We did the new train stations today. If you're looking for a nice morning out go to West Footscray station where you can catch the new trains straight through to all the stops, get off at ANZAC station so you can see at least one of them, then go across the road to the Kettle Black for something to eat.

I've been meaning to go there for years and it was worth the trip.

And then of course you jump on a train and head right back again

Uuuuuurghhhhh

Might be aircon all night.

[–] Force_majeure1234@aussie.zone 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Gross hot night. Still hot and humid. Blegh. Looks like cool change coming around 1pm though πŸ™

Same. Wish I'd listened to earlier me and ran the aircon overnight.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 8 points 1 week ago (5 children)

ok ok, here's your slide show

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 8 points 1 week ago

Got home and opened all the windows. The cool change is very welcome.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Ughhh had a hot flush so bad it triggered the whole "blow the hatches!" Autonomic response last night. Yes. Sweating a pool on the toilet tiles while i desperately try not to shit mysef is exactly how i wanted to spend my holidays. /s

~didn't even get to have me some illegal fun first to cause it~

[–] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yep, the 10 minute trip to hell is a whole lotta fun alright. Still better than the cramps - those can be quite inconvenient. Especially doubling up in the biscuit aisle of a supermarket or on public transport.

Baby beans asked to be lifted up on the favourite chair and is snoozing. Normally she jumps but I guess she feels like taking it easy right now.

Sometimes a kitty wants to be pampered

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 6 points 1 week ago

hot, tired

hugs

Around these parts, despite the flyscreen, the window being open requires supervision.

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 7 points 1 week ago

Despite the clouds and sunscreen I do believe I copped a bit of colour. Was a nice morning for it. Got cajoled into the cold cold sea by one of the family younguns and it was lots of fun. Am tired. Time for book and early night.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Why is all the garlic so shit at the moment? Expensive and none of it dried properly. goes funky in record time.

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 5 points 1 week ago

Might be out of season? They only had imported one at my supermarket, agree it was shit.

The new beaters arrived, so I had to make a test cake (which is now in the oven). They worked well, although Mr Woof was concerned about the noise of them hitting the side of the bowl and evacuated to the backyard for safety. But he does that for just about everything 🀣

[–] Pilk@aussie.zone 5 points 1 week ago

its me, your test cake taste tester

[–] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 5 points 1 week ago (4 children)

BOM lied again - a gentle rain is falling. The garden is loving it after yesterday and this morning.

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 5 points 1 week ago

I drove two kids up kinglake rd towards humevale and it's coming down up those hills. Not a heavy rainfall but it's sweeping across the road like clouds of dust

Pakige! My new beaters are waiting at my front door for me. That was a really quick delivery, I wasn't expecting them to arrive for a few days.
