Yep they also refuse to help white people. All these theories and shows tend to paint non European architecture as beyond the "primitive locals" so aliens.

That'a not true at all. Looks like you've never seen Ancient Aliens. They thought ancient white people were stupid as fuck too.

Aliens: "We have the cure for cancer."

Humans: "Great! What is it?"

Aliens: "Just stop your cells from reproducing. That creates translation errors which can result in run-away mitosis and mutation."

Humans: "Uh... okay, but if we're not using cells, what should we use to form our bodies instead?"

Aliens: "Sandstone is good. Marble is better."

Humans: "Okay, we'll give it a shot."

3000 years of Egyptians and Greeks perfecting the sculpture later...

Humans: "Nope. Still got cancer."

Definitely related, but I don’t know if anybody else noticed.

Erich von Däniken just passed away the other day. I miss the days I could appreciate a good conspiracy theory. Living through Covid destroyed any enjoyment I got from that.

What killed conspiracy theories for me was how the USAF drove Paul Bennewitz insane playing into his conspiracy theories rather than just admit he caught encrypted radio.

And not only that, they systematically undermined people’s trust in authorities with this by letting it become such a huge industry. If you think the government is lying to you about aliens it’s a lot easier to think they’re lying about vaccines and face masks.
