Went out to thrift shops to look for more tops and jeans, and found a pair of stretchy jeans that fit me nicely, as well as some pink sport shorts I can wear around the house.

The leaf leggings are my spouse's, shes a bit of a pothead when it comes to clothes lol

I don't have a mirror at home to get a full view of myself, so this is the first time I'm seeing the full view all at once of myself in full girlmode. My mirrors at home are all too small or fixed to walls lmao

The jeans:

I've tried on all the clothes from the thrift stores and they almost all fit, now once they get washed I'll have more things to wear! I'm still on the lookout for a bra my size (I'm not shopping at big box stores where possible, and I don't get thrift store undergarments) holy shit I knew it was bad for cis women who are well-endowed, but just finding my band size WITHOUT the F cups is proving quite difficult... I may have to order online. I should have bought from leolines but they're so expensive and I already spent over $50 on them this month...

Good store though, I asked them to put a small paper with "happy birthday Courtney" on it since it should arrive around then, and they were quick to respond, and quickly figured out my preferred name isn't what the order is under. 10/10.

Someone was trying to get past me while I was browsing and said "excuse me ma'am" and I have never wanted to cry more in my whole life. I didn't say anything since I'm very very early in voice training, just tried to do a high-pitched "mhmm" and stepped aside. I had to sit in the fitting room for a few minutes to collect myself.

I had to change into sweats and a t-shirt to get back into the house, but I'm still riding my high from earlier!

Next time I go out I think I want to wear a skirt but the tights I bought to cover my legs got a rip in them thanks to a park bench I sat on last week :(

I'm too self conscious to not wear something covering my legs though, especially since I'm still trying to figure out consistent hair control. I'd like to try waxing but since I want to do a FULL waxing, I need a Trans-friendly place to do it, or someone who knows what theyre doing at home.

Maybe soon I'll get brave enough to wear a sundress!

It's great! I had a choice between this one and one that said "Trans Rights Are Human Rights" and someone else really wanted that one. I was already leaning toward this one since it fits my attitude perfectly. "If they don't like it they can get fucked, this is who I am and their phobias won't change that"

One of my friends in the "Trans"formers group I'm in gave it to me last night at karaoke, it's a little too small for her and purple I think suits me.

When I moved back here last year, I got rid of a dresser and 6ft wide mirror that could be removed and turned 90°, and I'm kicking myself for not thinking we needed it... Now I definitely want it back! I'm Def gonna be on the lookout for one at garage sales this spring and summer!

I highly recommend epilating! Like waxing, you're pulling the hair out by the root so it lasts a long time, but unlike waxing, you're not also pulling your skin. Just like doing a coat of primer before you start painting, you may need to do a bit of a shave first, but the maintenance after that is very easy.

I actually got an epillator the other day, and my skin seems to not like it very much. A bunch of angry red dots pop up wherever the hair was pulled from. It was making my legs so smooth though!

Do you tend to have sensitive skin? Maybe you need to change up your skincare routine. Or you may just need some time to get used to it. It is kind of a violent action to rip hairs out of your skin after all. It gets easier though, fewer hairs come back and I find it doesn't even hurt anymore.

I've never had sensitive skin before, so it's odd. I'm sure I just need to power through. I got a little unsure about it and the prickly feeling on my legs was killing me so I just used depilatory cream again...

When they get long enough to use the epilator again I'll try some more. For now I'm also checking to see how long it takes the bumps to go away. I did some as a test 3 days ago, then some more 2 days ago. Last night I used the cream and this morning the bumps are still there but nearly gone. Some aren't just bumps, it's fully a tiny scab :(

Maybe I just bought a cheap one? I know they get expensive, I'm not shelling out $160 for it though...

My skincare routine consists of "use the moisturizing lotion I got for free" and "foaming exfoliating body scrub" in the shower. So basically nonexistent 😂 I definitely need to get into one though but have no idea where to start. I love how smooth my legs feel after taking care of the hair and using lotion though. I had girlfriends in the past who would rub their legs obsessively after shaving and now I understand why!

If your epilator is waterproof, use it in either the shower or bath, so long as your skin is hot and wet. It softens the skin some and helps loosen your pores so it hurts marginally less and gives a better result. You can also do it immediately after you shower as well if it's not waterproof. I would also recommend looking up dry brushing as a form of exfoliation. No one time use consumables that way. Sugaring or epilating results in a decent number of ingrowns if I don't exfoliate for the next few days afterwards.

When it comes to waxing, I suggest you try sugaring as well, it exfoliates the skin as well as removing the hair and you can make it at home with only a few basic ingredients. It just takes to practice to get the technique down to use unlike hard or soft wax, which are both mostly just slap it on with the grain, peel it off against the grain.

It claims to be waterproof, but I wouldn't trust it to get wet, it feels fairly "not sealed" if that makes sense. Things with decent waterproofing tend to feel more solid with all the seals and things.

I might be able to get it to work in the shower if i am careful to keep water away from it. Honestly I should have just forked up the extra money to get a halfway decent one... That's on me.

I've heard of "sugaring" but never looked into it. It sounds messy.

My partner's wax kit is a hard wax kit that I've used on them a handful of times. It's easy to come off the skin when it cools, but at this point I would have to wait like 2 weeks to have enough hair to use it... I just am a bit of a whimp when it comes to voluntary pain. I can deal with literally being stabbed until I get to a hospital, but start pulling my arm hairs and I'll cry... Pain is weird lol

I'm still getting a skin care routine figured out, But I'm sure I will get the hang of it eventually. This is just the first time I've decided I'm going to stick to things long term...

Don't worry, mine is extremely cheap and it does the job. I also get those tiny scabs sometimes, and for me it's from ripping out a particularly thick hair.

For taking care of your skin, don't overcomplicate it! Exfoliating is definitely a good start, and always remember to moisturise. You shouldn't need to pay an arm and a leg and incorporate 37 steps to keep your skin healthy.

we also experienced something similar to that. the redness does seem like a given no matter what we do, but for the other stuff we have found it does help to take a hot shower beforehand, and to make sure the hair isn't too long (our epilator has a shaving attachment). the first time we epilated, we didn't do this and it went uhh... not great.

also, some areas are also just more sensitive than others! our stomach area seems to be especially so.

we ordered our epilator direct from manufacturer for 110usd at the time, now it is 135usd though. it has worked satisfactorily, and looks to be designed and fabricated reasonably well. the basic principle of operation should be the same for yours though, then again maybe the material of the tweezers does have an effect? not sure.

best wishes though!!!! you got this <3
