We won at practice
Chicago Bears
A good coaching staff can make a mid team playoff contenders. A bad coaching staff can make a playoff team go 0-17. People are saying our roster is ass, but look at a majority of the guys we let go last season, a lot of them are having career seasons now. If that's not indicative that our coaching staff is ass, idk what will convince you guys.
I'd say so, yeah. Getsy and Eberfail make it hard to see though.
I think better coaching wins the broncos game.
im gonna say dude who knows, I think weve had ALL the starters across offense and defense play like 1 game lol
Not really the gm poles overrate his players he acquired.
Nope.
Yeah. If Eberflus wasn’t a spectacularly stupid useless coward and Getsy wasn’t a dumbfuck twat who can’t figure out how to use his offense they would at least be 4-5 (Denver, New Orleans) if not better.
Any competent coaching staff will have this team at at least 4-5 wins by now.
Absolutely not
Your record is your record
I think we have the talent of a 4-5 win team. Which is exactly what our record says we are.
While you can point out a dozen holes in the roster and bad coaching, you have to accept that most of the other teams in the league feel the exact same way. We play a lot of those teams who are also bad rosters.
We’re a bottom 5 team just like our record says.
I think overall we are better than our record, not much but a little bit. We have a decent RB and WR core, our OLine is getting better, defense is mostly miss but has some hits. I think this team under a different regime is a solid 500 team, just good enough to sometime squeak a wild card but not good enough to be considered favorites.
We only need like 52 more players and Super Bowl here we come
Probably. I think the team we have on the field would have won week 1.
Young guys are definitely improving.
Nope, its a shit roster.
Yes I think this team is a 3-4 win team
As it stands today I'd say so. I feel the 3 big issues for the bears so far this season have been below, rather than talent.
-
Coaching
-
Health
-
3rd youngest roster by snaps played.
You're going to get a lot of up and down play with that, especially with our coaching staff.
Nope
Absolutely, with a competent switch at OC (especially earlier in the season) and an aggressive DC this team with its injuries could’ve won 2-4 more games so far.
Nope
Yes if everyone was healthy but no because injuries happen in the nfl and our depth is embarrassing
I think marginally, yes. The injuries to the offensive line and defensive secondary have been a real problem this year. All teams have to deal with injuries, but the Bears have been undermanned all season at those two position groups, and I think it’s shown up in the game results. If their pass defense and blocking had been marginally better in a couple of games, I can see the Bears scratching out a couple more wins. If they were 4-5 right now, we’d be talking about this team completely differently.
This team is 10 players away from being 10 players away.
When you're 2-7, you're bad, and it's not by sheer luck that you have that record.
No, it is one of the worst rosters in the league.
Would be hard to be worse
Maybe slightly. But good players will at least show flashes of quality regardless of scheme, and the fact that the majority of Poles’ draft picks and free agent acquisitions haven’t flashed at all suggests that, like Eberflus, Poles isn’t good at his job either.
Yes.
Not really
No. This is a team that lacks quality starters at about 1/3 to 1/2 of all starting positions and has no players that are top five at their position. This is a low talent team right now.
No. This doesn’t mean I’m saying the coaching is good but sorry this roster was poorly constructed.
Who the hell knows anymore. The entire organization is a perennial disaster. Is it the owners' fault? The players' fault? The coaches' fault? Yes, all of the above.
Probably not. The offense needs better play calling and consistent qb play. The defense needs two more plus pass rushers. If we can improve in those areas this offseason we could be a 6-8 ish win team with a promising future. Especially if we can figure out qb.
No but the idea is that you should say least be able to win some games that you normally wouldn't win with excellent coaching and outstanding execution. Think Jets over Eagles and Steelers over Ravens earlier this year. No one really expected those teams to win, but they did despite a complete lack of offense. We have the reverse. We won two games because one team thought that we were so inept that they didn't show up for a half, and the other team was suffering ineptitude until they fired it.
You are what your record says you are.
Oh yeah
You're as good as your record but I'm convinced that if we had a coach like Tomlin or even MCDC or McDaniel, there's a couple more wins by this point. We do need to keep improving the roster talent level, but I think there's notable underperformance in the scheming and coaching.
I have no idea because of how bad the coaching is.
I feel like we should be better than what we are
You are what your record says you are.
I'll bite. Yes the team is better than their record imo.
The biggest issue by far is defensive scheme. 100% the front 7 getting 0 pressure is an absolute shit show and that's on scheme/coaching.
The offense has at times been pretty good. The defense has never gotten consistent pressure or forced a lot of turnovers. (a blow out against a rookie AOC-led Raiders team doesn't count imo, they had McDaniels as their head coach)
Yes it is, there have been many blown opportunities due to coaching. Then the injury bug has been prevalent. There is yet to be a game when every starter is playing together.
Your roster is really only about as good as your quarterback.
Look at the Jets. Outside of QB they have a championship roster. Early candidate for defense of the decade. They are currently 4-4.
The Bears have a bottom 5 defense and a middle of the pack offense. Unless Justin Fields turns into Patrick Mahomes, this is going nowhere fast.
Lots of doom in here so I’ll be positive. Our O-Line play has significantly improved since the start of the season, we are pretty loaded at RB once we get Herbert, this is one of the best WR corps we’ve had in recent memory, added a key D-line member. This off-season will be huge and super critical for us being competitive next year. Def not Super Bowl ready but if we play our cards right think we should be in good shape for next year.
Who cares. Fire everyone
No. There's no playmakers on this team. This whole team is average to below average and a product of it's coaching, gameplanning, and QB play.
Lol no. They have no definitive blue chip players.
If the roster looks better, but we still suck ass, it’s on rhe coaching
Nope
It is not.
