I’m making a few assumptions here..

  • We move on from JF1

  • JJ gets the tag

  • EJax & Whitehair are cut. Mooney is let go.

With that, I think the Bears have 6 main holes to fill this offseason (in no particular order).

  1. QB1

  2. C

  3. WR2

  4. DE2

  5. FS

  6. 3T

A few thoughts on this…

  • Bears can likely fill 2 of these spots with the first round rookies. If by chance they trade back, they’ll likely recoup a high 2nd that can immediately contribute.

  • This is a strong draft at the top for QB, WR, OT

  • The FA class (pending) has some great names at WR, S and DL. Bears will have close to $90m in cap to spend (again).

How do ya’ll see it playing out? Any names you are high on?

Doesn’t Harbaugh like personnel control? I wonder how tf that would happen with Poles.

This subs love fest for Fields is wild.

I think its a combination of never having a franchise QB, watching his splashy run plays & his overall likeability as a human.

I promise you…there is better out there than JF1. Is that Williams or Maye? Idk. But you have to try & improve from a guy who has won 7 games in three years & one 300 yd game in his career.

Biggest thing is Carolina losing.

Take a shot of Malort every time Flus says RIGHT.

I’ll never get this arguement.

Horrible/inept franchises turn it around with the right QB. Lawrence helped turn around JAX, Burrow in CIN, Stroud now in HOU, Cam in CAR.

You keep taking swings at the most important position in sports.

I think the majority of QBs coming out of college have question marks. Fields had issues, Stroud had issues..they all do. Most analysts agree that this draft class is loads better than ‘25 & Maye/Williams are top tier talents.

The question really becomes..do you try again with a top prospect or do you run it back with a flawed QB in year 4 & an entirely new coaching staff?

I’m torn tbh. Idk how to feel.

On one hand, Fields makes some absolute backbreaking mistakes in the worst times.

On the other hand, you have one of the most inept coaching staffs in the history of the league “developing” him.

Idk wtf should happen anymore.

STEP UP GODDAMIT

I will bet Fields turns it over. Bet me.

Of course the usual Brisker shoulder injury

Throw the TO in the trash whydontya

Lets run it back with Fields yea?

…but ya’ll gotta look at some of the other WRs in this class. There are some absolute dogs at the top of this class. Even if we cannot land MHJ, this is a great time to get one in the draft.

Nabers, Odunze, Coleman & Egbuka are all high end prospects.

There’s also some solid Day 2 prospects.

I’m an open Poles critic, but it looks like Wright is a stud. Besides the final strip sack, he held his own against a top 5 DE.

Jason Mckie mentioned afterward that that Wright was playing hurt which is even wilder.

Davis looked rusty (rightfully so) but it really does look like we are a good center away.

What do we think happens with him this offseason? I went into the year thinking he was a solid WR2 but he looks like more of a WR3.

Do you think Poles retains him? Whats a fair price?
