…but ya’ll gotta look at some of the other WRs in this class. There are some absolute dogs at the top of this class. Even if we cannot land MHJ, this is a great time to get one in the draft.

Nabers, Odunze, Coleman & Egbuka are all high end prospects.

There’s also some solid Day 2 prospects.

Who’s to say these guys will be available if we trade down? Personally I see a ton of similarities between the 2024 and 2021 prospects, and in that draft the WRs went 5th, 6th, 10th, 20th, and 27th (4th too if you want to count Pitts). Chase, Waddle, and DeVonta all were absolutely worth their high draft spot, and I could very easily see MHJ, Odunze, and Nabers all going top 10

Nope no getting cute just fucking pick him up

[–] JeanieGold139@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Taking a wide receiver instead of a qb with a top 2 pick would be getting cute

[–] Upset_Researcher_143@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Part of me wants to trade both picks for a truckload...

[–] mollusks75@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don’t think MHJ makes it past AZ.

[–] zenmasterPWL@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'll take them all. I'll also take all the offense linemen and defense linemen.

[–] Critical-Adhole@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We need Caleb Williams. We can pick up another wr1 with a later pick.

[–] Brief_Scallion@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I just want someone who can run 10 yards, turn around, block out a DB and make a catch. MHJ can do that. And can also do the homerun ball.

What do the anti-Fields/MHJ or bust people think? Because there likely isn't a scenario where they draft MHJ and don't plan on brining back Fields. If they make a pick at one or two, it's a QB. MHJ is gone after that.

[–] lkn240@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If we have pick #3 we might take MH Jr there and draft someone like Daniels, McCarthy, etc later on

[–] Caleb_Williams_bears@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

just go Caleb and nabers then. easy

[–] Understdy-evrything@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Don’t sleep on Troy Franklin! I’m not at all saying he’s the better pro prospect, but dude has better numbers than Harrison and has played a tougher schedule.

[–] BearForceDos@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nabers is going to be a stud in the Diggs/Beckham mold. I think he's the top wr in a lot of classes without MHJ.

Odunze has stupid high upside imo, he moves very well for someone with his size.

I'm not sold on Coleman think he might bust, and Egbuka should be a solid slot wr at worst.

I'm curious to see how Johnny Wilson runs because he's legitimate 6'7 and could be an off-brand Mike Evans.

McConkey will be a solid player and wouldn't hate him if he is available late. I also like Troy Franklin and Roman Wilson.

Bears fans have already inducted MHJ into the 1st ring of the Hall of Fame. They have all but built him into a Moss Rice hybrid with hybrid vigor on top.

He is a great prospect but he is not the second coming. He is still not a QB meaning he can be the Moss-Rice hybrid and he is still worth only an extra game or two.

We should not get MHJ. Wide Receivers area always over rated in the draft. Trade the draft pick for multiple draft picks. Bears fans are high if they want him.

Heavy disagree. WR is a premium position now, which is why it’s being overvalued. Coles with the territory. See QB always going 1-2-3.

Top 10 WRs recently have good pedigree.

WR is an over valued position in the draft. They are flashy and score points so all the dopes think its a good pick. They may improve our offense, but they don't put wins on the board.

[–] Further_Beyond@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah that darn modern football thing of scoring points sure is a bad thing. DEFENSE AND RUNNING ONLY HERE IN CHICAGO

[–] glockymcglockface@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The best ability is availability. MHJ has shown he is injury prone. Nabers is playing is LSUs bowl game. I’ll take Nabers who will play is every game over MHJ who will play in 70% of games.

I’m tired boss. I’m so tired of this season.

[–] Dani_vic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The other guys are dogs. But not one of them is MHJ.

[–] Dependent_Offer_5845@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The reason to get MHJ at #1 is simply to pair him with DJ Moore and have a top-3 WR room in the league on day 1. I have seen this work in the past in St. Louis with the 1999 Rams. That team added Timmerman (Pro-Bowl - OG), Faulk (HOF - RB) and Warner (HOF - QB, by accident not intent) and brought in a rookie WR named Torry Holt (Future HOF - WR) to pair with Isaac Bruce (HOF - WR) and Orlando Pace (HOF - LT).

Now, Fields is not Warner - but Warner would not have been "Warner" either without the weapons that were on that Rams O... Pairing Holt and Bruce was a league-leading tandem for 5 years (the entirety of the Greatest Show on Turf run) and while there would still be no one on the Bears anywhere NEAR the level of Faulk, there was so much downfield open receivers for the Rams because they could not be doubled and taken away.

Bruce and Holt absolutely feasted on the 17-yard backside dig routes and I could see similar things for a Bears offense with Fields at QB1, Roschon/Herbert at HB, and Moore / MHJ as WR1a/WR1b. It would not be exactly the same (in reality probably not close to that level of talent), but it could still be the most potent Bears' offense in forever...

The thing is, if the bears don't go MHJ, Id prefer they fill glaring holes in the roster. We don't NEED a WR, but you take a guy like MHJ because he's the best WR in years

[–] Buick_reference3138@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Odunze is the real deal. I would love to see him on the squad.

[–] Derpiliciousderp@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Malik Washington is an amazing player and will be a great player in the slot in the NFL

[–] joemiken@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I absolutely love Rome Odunze's game. He's going to be a stud in the NFL.

Nabers is great, but I wouldn't be surprised if Brian Thomas is just as good. They're like Jamarr Chase and Justin Jefferson. Chase got all the attention in their championship season with Jefferson being a very good second fiddle. I think he ends up being WR5 behind MHJ/Coleman/Nabers/Odunze.
