Left out of the headline (but in the first paragraph) is that one of the investment firms is owned by Jared Kushner, Trump's SIL.

I can't boycott any harder you guys. It's been 10 years since I've bought an EA game!

Same but I would encourage anyone who hasn’t cancelled gamepass to do so until they pull EA from the package deal and lower costs accordingly.

My last one was the Battlefield 1942 complete collection. So, 20 years here.

You can seed ea game torrents. Not play them, just seed.

I think the last one I bought new was Burnout Paradise

About the same for me. I'm a Sims player so I pirated what I wanted. Now I run it on steam.

When EA Origin (the EA client) became mandated for EA games, I quit purchasing EA games entirely.

No regrets. I avoided the entire lootbox thing.

Now EA is under private equity, which means, I suspect, it'll soon go the way of Toys 'R Us and Radio Shack.

Appropriate, given EA's long standing policy of buying up development companies and gutting them.

If only.

If this is the thing that does EA in, we can all feel a little pride and accomplishment.

EA Journalist Murdering 2027, coming soon!

Edit: for those unaware of how brutal Saudi Arabia is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_Jamal_Khashoggi#Assassination

Saudi obsession with acquiring anything related to sports is something to be studied.

Nothing wrong with loving sports, it's the way they go about it that's offputting.

[–] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 month ago

I assumed that they're buying things that some people like in the hopes that they'll glean some of that like for themselves.

The Saudi family has long been a font of cruelty, ruthlessness and abuse of power, long before Mr. Bone Saw.

A friend of mine got Paralives for her birthday, and says it has its charm.

This is such a beautiful line - I shall need to borrow it from time to time. Thank you for sharing!
