Love this but i'll bet Facebook/insta/Amazon/apple/etc are as popular as ever in Canada.

In a way, as a Canadian, I’m glad for Trump for two reasons. One, we hated him so much that the conservative candidate in our federal election lost what should have been the easiest conservative win of my lifetime because he threw in support behind trump. And two, we are finally diversifying our economy away from that volatile ass country.

Well, most Canadians. I gotta say, maybe not surprised, but definitely irked that Carney is trying to encourage Canadians to put US liquor back on the shelves.

We learned in Trump 1.0 that he is extremely isolationist and wants to cut the US off from the world like it's North Korea.

The way an abusive spouse cuts their partner off from all other social contacts.

The way FOX News encourages its viewership to stop watching all other media sources so they're in an information silo.

And the US voted for him again, because we vote based on vibes and bigotry. Because we have forgotten our civic duty to vote responsibly. Because we are suckers for lying confidence men who make ridiculous promises.

So the US is due for more than a bit of harsh finding out. We should have learned after George W. Bush. We didn't and FA'd. (Effed A?)

Anyhow a lot of Americans have cut off their MAGA relatives and neighbors. It is no surprise at all that Canada — and the entire international community — might do the same.

I'm skeptical the US is going to survive to the November election, much less the new Congress in January.

That's what I would do if I where there. I'm in the Pacific Northwest and we feel the tourism squeeze here. I don't care. You can't insult your closest friend and bully them. I want the US to suffer the consequences, for a good amount of time, so every idiot is aware of the reasons for their pain. Not to mention Canada is beautiful. I could vacation at Banff or even in the far east for the rest of my life and be fine, you guys will be fine and even happier spending money to support your own countrymen.

Can we do export tariffs on potash now? I think an extra 30% is reasonable.

American here. It genuinely pains me to see what little goodwill we had left in the world be squandered by the Turd Reich. Seeing your neighbors vote this totalitarian wannabe in a second time, embrace the hateful propaganda fed to them, as everything becomes unaffordable and AI datacenters, Flock cameras, and prison camps filled with innocent immigrants litter the landscape . So many of us are fighting back however we can. Those of us using legal means see the rules quickly changed to thwart us. Those using less legal means are vindictively prosecuted while pedophiles in power are left in peace. I don’t fault the rest of the world for turning their backs on us - it’s justified.

Please know that the regular people here still love our neighbors to the north and don’t want the longstanding friendship between our countries to die. We don’t want to annex Canada (nor Greenland). We’re sorry and are desperately trying to fight against this cancer that’s killing our country.

Unfortunately, the fact still remains that Carney has basically abandoned every environmentalist initiatives to inject money in the economy because of this trade war. Every country on heart os now inveting way more in military. There's a huge cost to all of this, millions will die of consequences of the Trump era.

The only pain point for me is CPU/GPU computer parts. They're already insane, this makes them 50% more expensive on top of that because x86 and PC GPU is USA dominated still.

• Canada gives up trade talks and imposes 50% tariffs on the USA, matching America's trump tarrifs on Canadian goods.

Only one nation has ever invaded Canada, and we taught them the error of their ways. If necessary, we will teach them that lesson again.
