i never "formally" came out to my dad (or anyone else from my family) but seeing the grin on his face when he realized still makes me smile.

Thats cute:)
I was tempted to do that lmao but ofc for me coming out directly was ny only option
Congratulations Minty! Really proud of you. Wishing you the best with your dad going forward.
Thank uu
Tell you the truth, lots of people says things that may be transphobic but arent meant that way. Or like people grow and change over time. I dont think you should dwell too much on the past. Perfect is the enemy of good
Hell alot of trans people including me have internalized transphobia, thats part of what makes this journey so hard.
The biggest most important lesson i learned is you expect people to react negatively because you yourself somewhere inside you reacts negatively to yourself. Think about thoughts of dysphoria, or just feeling like its not worth, too late, never be fem enough etc etc. These are all self hating thoughts that if you let linger will color your view about interacting with people.
I wont lie and say anything is easy, or even safe. We cant predict who will be safe or not. We CAN love ourselves better so that we can change our mindset.
Because if ive learned anything else, its that the vast majority of sane people dont give a fuck ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you❤️ Thats really good advice
I agree. I had a lot of internalised transphobia before toward myself.
Aww congratulations! I'm glad it went well, even if it's still complicated. ❤️
Mintyyyyyyy 💚
