what is this creature of whimsy and fwumpy

[–] pticrix@lemmy.ca 20 points 5 days ago

It's from an AI video that many people try to pass as real to get views, best I can tell from a reverse search on the image.

I don't know, but I wonder whether it's related to Rango.

Rango

Fine, I'll make my own Rango! Whose gayer! And weirder!

[–] toynbee@piefed.social 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

While I liked that movie a lot and was impressed by the efforts they went through to make it, it is impossible to deny that it would have been even more interesting with this post providing the main character.

Well I didn't learn I had autism until I was in my 30s. I feel like I was masking so well, I even fooled myself.

why is this creature so terrifying yet relatable..?

[–] TerdFerguson@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

I can manage it occasionally, in certain contexts. I used to be way better at it but a while back I had ye olde autistic burn out episode and then that put a stop to a lot of things.

I don't spend much energy on masking these days; it's so harmful in so many ways. Getting along with the normies isn't really worth it.

how good do i think i am? The Best(TM)

How good i actually am? no idea. Probably okay.

[–] minty@aussie.zone 5 points 6 days ago

Honestly I no idea. I mean historically BAD, being largly mute during my highschool years.

After learning to speak to people, and getting help with my social anxiety, I have asked people close to me if I am noticably autistic and they said no. I worry a lot that now I have a social life, a lot of what I have learned is actually learning how to mask

So good that i cant even tell where it starts and where it ends.

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 6 days ago

My guess? Not very good, though like draws to like, and with some reflection, I'm pretty sure most of my bubble of people have been at a minimum spectrum adjacent or other types of ND.

I'm hypervilligant so I'm very good at it. It's so exhausting.
