Yeah but if Shran was specific enough to call Archer pink-skin he'd hit Sisko with probably brown.
Of course if he said mocha-skin he'd Shran would still probably get punched
/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags.
Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

Generally, animals are much better at telling between members of their own species than members of other species. So, it may be that human brains are more hardwired to see more distinct colors in the range that comprises human skin.
What I'm saying is that it wouldn't be shocking if Andorians didn't notice that much of a difference between the skin colors of Archer and The Sisko, and conversely, they may have different names for shades of blue in their skin that are strikingly obvious to them, but not to humans.
So, it might actually be that an Andorian would consider them both pink skins. Which might not make things better, though.
Generally, animals are much better at telling between members of their own species than members of other species.
I feel like this is an inherently unprovable claim given that we haven't met any aliens that can corroborate.
We see it with a lot of animals. E.g. penguins can quite easily pick out known penguins from a group. Meanwhile, the average human wouldn't be able to tell you much more than "it's a penguin".
With humans it's (at least partially) a learnt skill. Farmers can tell cows etc apart easily. I would struggle. We even run into it within our own species. E.g. I struggle differentiating people of races I don't see as often. It can be very annoying at times. I'm also definitely not the only one.
3 pink-skin pigs.
Source: I'm human

When you look at that picture, you can obviously only see what a human can see. In fact, photographs and monitors are made for human eyes seeing things as a human would see them. A pig looking at this picture on my monitor might understand the image but think the colors are slightly off.
If a pig saw these three pigs together in person, they might tell them apart for different reasons than you, a human would.
And these are domesticated pigs, bred to look the way that a human wants them to look. Easy for humans to tell different breeds apart.
If only he remembered his past lives Edit: or future lives, times a flat circle or something
About time we see some more Shran memes in this community. Heck yeah.
Easily one of the best parts of ENT. And how could he not be? Jeffrey Combs is a treasure.
Amen.
I dig Shran, but for me Weyoun on DS9 will always the best of Combs' non-Herbert West performances.
It's a funny joke, but lets me real. Shran would probably win that fight.
The Sisko won a fistfight against Q.
Sisko punched Q once, and Q was so entertained that he didn't do anything about it. Don't play.
Q doesn't strike me as a gracious loser, even over petty things like this. Perhaps he made the best of a bad situation.
Despite appearances, Q aren't all-powerful in every way. Depending on your take, The Sisko is either part Prophet, or is at least backed by The Prophets. Their relationship to time might be an issue for Q.
I love the idea of Q effectively teasing an ant, knowing it won't even bother trying to hurt him, because it knows it can't. Only to find himself on his arse with a black eye, thinking WTF just happened... HOW!!!
Shran: the pink skins, I mean the humans
Travis: am I a joke to you?
