This is my favorite picture of Cutty in a Bears uniform

Every thanksgiving year I always the Brett Favre jersey retirement game

[–] Dazed_and_Confused44@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

As the years go by I wonder if Rodgers didn't intentionally spoil Favres jersey retirement. It's one of the only times we beat him and it almost seems too perfect lol

But certainly that is one of my favorite Bears memories because we weren't supposed to win that game

Idgaf what anyone says cutler masked some incredible incompetence within the organization. Forever my QB1

[–] rdldr1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Cutty does it. Cutty don't care.

[–] RhinoIA@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

And the best part was it happened in Green Bay on Brett Favre night. FTP!

[–] PutridLikeness@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No it didn’t lol that was a different game. This was clearly a thanksgiving game and that was a Monday Night Football game.

I fucking love Cutty no quomo

[–] langlis@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

So Bart Star was there, retiring Farve, thanksgiving, every single sports analyst picked the packers to win. Against a healthy Rodgers. Foxy will forever have my respect for going into Lambeau with Smokin Jay Cutler and company and pulling off of a beaut of an upset.

But this sub rather tank every year we aren’t a contender.

I’ll take games like that 100% over tanking like a pathetic ass franchise

[–] colorkiller@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

honestly same. as mad as i was at him for a while, i kinda agree with fox that maybe he should have gotten one more year to try 🥴

[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He should’ve been fired the year before. He’s a great guy I’m sure but he was never gonna take us to the playoffs.

Fox was forced on Pace and wanted to fire him the year prior. In 2017 we could’ve had McVay, McDermott, or Shanahan. Nagy and Vrabel were the best coaches available in 2018.

[–] colorkiller@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

oh yeah no, i agree. like i said in another comment my maybe is holding a lot of weight. i was always in two minds about him because of the coaching pool when he was eventually fired. of course back then i wasn’t nearly as aware of the coaching pool as i am now, so i was pretty football illiterate.

i’m just glad they managed that win on favre night. FTP

During his last season with the Bears John Fox was, as we say in the military R.O.A.D.--Retired on Active Duty. Kind of like how Belichick is now.

[–] colorkiller@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

to be fair, my “maybe” is carrying a lot of weight there 😅

[–] VanderCooks@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You could totally tell nobody expected the Bears to be in that postgame interview

[–] BlindBanditt@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Rock solid QB and hell of a football player

[–] HT2424@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Arguably Jay’s best win as a bears QB, aside from maybe the Seahawks playoff game

[–] ItsEaster@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The broadcast was so mad that the Packers lost this game too. They really wanted to do more Rodgers and Favre talk but instead got Cutler.

[–] colorkiller@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

i thought for sure this game was over, i was at the bar staring into my beer inconsolably when one of my buddies nudged me and said “HEY THEY WON”

god bless that goal line stand

[–] EBeerman1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Cutty and Tracy Porter. Talk about a 6-10 team with some swagger. Enough to go punch for punch with the packers at home on thanksgiving - and win. What an AMAZING game to watch live with the fam

[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

People shit on being mediocre instead of just sucking but that game was 100% worth it.

Rolling over on your back every year gives you no shot at keeping that rivalry close.

[–] Jorikstead@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This was the night Packers chose to retire Brett Favre's jersey.

[–] KenoshaHatTrik@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Cutler was a dawg.
