I’ll always celebrate a win but I’m at the point where I want us to lose every game. Two top 3 picks would be franchise changing. Get Caleb/Maye and MHJ. Or if you end up sticking with Fields, you can trade down and still get MHJ 3.

[–] thefluscaboose@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

this sub is seriously going to be so shocked when this team does what every single fanbase of every other team, every single media analyst, every single talking head, every single failed youtuber, every single successful youtuber, every single journalist, every single social media bozo, and every single NFL front office thinks we'll do and draft a QB.

[–] M1Garand00294@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think he means picking MHJ with the Bears pick not the Panthers

[–] Brodie1567@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’d like them to be competitive and show some growth (prob not gonna happen with Eberlose), but two top 3 picks sounds incredible for (hopefully) the next coach.

[–] mooes@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I always want the Bears to win.

[–] kohlio412@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

As much as I want mhj, I wouldn’t be disgusted if they are able to trade down if they miss him and still grab nabers or odunze. Both these guys look like absolute stars in their own right.

[–] PaytonAndHolyfield@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I hope we draft QB and then best available. Trade if trade is best. I hope Poles is gone though

[–] rhj2020@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Justin makes 1 or two really good throws a game but that’s not good enough. MHJ looks like a beast but it doesn’t matter until we fix our quarterback situation. We have to start over. Clean slate, new Gm, new coach, new QB. There’s no magic trick. This team is not good.

[–] MichHitchSlap@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What happens when MHJ runs a 4.51 40? Personally, I hope he has a bad 40 time and drops his stock a bit.

I agree with you, wish more GM’s did as well.

I love MHJ and I’d be very happy to get him. But I watch a ton of college football and Rome Odunze on Washington I believe is almost as can’t miss a WR as MHJ. They are both going to be pro bowl level WRs.

MHJ: 67 rec, 1,211 yards, 14 TD, 18.1 avg.

Odunze: 73 rec, 1,326 yards, 13 TD, 18.2 avg.

I know Penix is a Heisman candidate but honestly Odunze is the one who should be. UW would have 3 losses at least without Odunze.

I’m not saying Odunze is better but if the chips land where we don’t get MHJ…I’m looking at Odunze hard.

If I'm Poles, I take MHJ with Carolinas pick, but if those are the options, lose.

[–] Paran0idMan33@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Why not trade the pick to NE or NYG and still take MHJ?

[–] Upset_Researcher_143@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Win. I like the fact that we'll have two top 5 picks, but I'd rather see our team winning

[–] Johnny_Royale@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I get why someone would disagree with me and I DO understand, but I’m so completely disgusted with this team I don’t want to win another game this year. This might be the single worst coaching staff ever assembled and I want the stink to stick to all of them

[–] beefsupreme65@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Beat Arizona, still draft MHJ with the panthers pick.

[–] tacologic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

As long as Carolina gets us that sweet #1 pick, let's win

[–] MilkMan1880@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’d rather win. That’d all but guarantee we draft H18M MHJ!!!🐻🔽

[–] RzaAndGza@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

These guys rooting for wins are just so fucking dumb and short sighted

[–] Able-Ocelot5278@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If Eberflus is fired before that game, then win since it’ll help with building up young players into a winning culture. Otherwise I’d rather he lose guaranteeing he’s fired and improving the draft pick. He should be fired regardless of how many more games they win but he doesn’t deserve any more meaningless wins to pad his resume.

[–] RzaAndGza@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] Fols54@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Simple. Go for the win, get pissed off when they blow, go to bed happy looking at the standings.

[–] Gryffindorq@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

anytime my team plays i want them to win

we will have the chance to draft MHJ regardless

[–] JamoOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Anyone not rooting for them to lose every single game the rest of the season is a dope.

[–] InsideHangar18@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lose and draft a QB

[–] Erice84@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The game is like 4 weeks from now, depends how things go in the mean time.

[–] bobsaget824@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

True but the Cardinals have only 2 games before that one and the Bears have only 3 including tonight due to the BYES. The Cards have a matchup traveling to the 7-4 Steelers in a game they’ll be a huge underdog and then a game against the 49ers again a huge underdog… so I think the odds of them having still just 2 wins by our matchup are pretty damn high. We’ve got the Vikings, Lions and Browns with 2 of those being road games. We could pull off a win but still I think the most likely scenario is a 3 win Bears team vs a 2 win Cards team. To be honest the entire remaining schedule for the Cards is brutal outside of us. After us they’ll then have a game @Philly and then finish up with the Seahawks in a game that will likely mean playoff implications for the Seahawks and nothing for the Cards. Anything could happen but what seems the most likely based on opponents is that if the Cards get another win it will be against us.

I'll never actively root for my Bears to lose. However, I won't be surprised or upset at this point if they suck it up.

[–] okay_throwaway_today@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This. Kinda just playing with house money at this point. Except the house sucks

[–] Dabage@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Rooting for the team to lose is pointless and toxic. There's no point to following the Bears to root against them.

[–] Paran0idMan33@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How is it toxic? I obviously have no issue with someone wanting the Bears to win at this point but they’re 3-8. It’s easy to see why some fans are rooting for draft position.

[–] Not_Your_Romeo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The season is already lost, so definitely MHJ

[–] -_-Moss-_-_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lose and get MHJ

[–] BigTimeButNotReally@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

New QB or bust.

[–] dumbwop@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

MHJ All Day

[–] mberry86@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Brother i am beyond losing to the cardinals, i want to lose so much we get the #2 pick and get a second bryce young trade

[–] 200LBSAMMICH@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The NFL needs to adapt a relegation system with at least one other league. The constant tanking is such a damper on the fun of football. Teams shouldn't be rewarded because they lost more games.

[–] itsmb12@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lose, MHJ at 1, OL at next pick, fire Flus, hire Harbaugh.

[–] rugbysecondrow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Win, always win.

[–] BearForceDos@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'd be perfectly happy with the Bears losing out at this point though I've got a feeling they will win tonight.

Losing out would likely mean they get the 2nd or 3rd overall pick with their own pick and 1st overall with the Panthers.

That guarantees that they can get MHJ and pick a qb/trade down .

[–] PaytonAndHolyfield@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lots of people feeling this way

[–] Lobanium@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] PaytonAndHolyfield@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Hopefully he's gone no matter what

[–] BaconScentedSoap@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Az wins we need Maye/Williams and MHJ

[–] In-the-bunker@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

At this point, I would rather lose and have a better draft position, and then trade out to a QB-needy team.

Harrison isn't going 1. The first 2 and maybe 3 picks are going to be QBs. If the Bears have the first pick, they are taking Williams.

If Poles is confused and thinks he can ride with Fields then he is trading the first pick to a QB-needy team - if you want MHj, you better hope Belichick breaks form and gives Poles "a haul" to move down 1 or 2 slots for #1.

Why does this sub think AZ isn't trading out of 2 (if they lose to the Bears) for "a haul" to a QB-needy team?

[–] SmalldiniNJonesta@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] Kysorer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I’m sorry, I just can’t wrap my head around this shift where now everyone is clamoring for us to take MHJ even if we land at the #1 spot.

Don’t get me wrong, the dude is a complete monster and will be one of the best WRs to come out of the draft in a long while. But are we all forgetting the order of operations here? WRs live and die at the hands of their OC and QB combo. Sure, elite WRs will be good even with bad QB play, but it will never be enough to win games outright. Only the QB position can determine that.

If you don’t believe me, go ask Davante Adams about how he feels leaving Aaron Rodgers for LV. He got the bag he wanted, but can’t handle the fact he isn’t being used to his abilities. He is a nobody when he has guys like O’Connel and Hoyer throwing to him.

Calvin Johnson is arguably the greatest WR we’ve seen in the past 3-4 decades, and he never got a single postseason win his entire career. He was on the Lions when the team went 0-16 in one season.

Deandre Hopkins plummeted after he lost Kyler Murray and now plays for the Titans.

Conversely, guys like Stefon Diggs and A.J. Brown have become stars because they finally had elite QBs throwing to them.

I would support the Bears taking MHJ if they only had 1 first round pick that was in the 7-10 range, meaning most of the higher QB prospects were off the board. But if we are picking at 2 or 1 (especially 1) it has to be a QB, and I don’t think tossing MHJ onto this roster with Fields will make him looks much better than he is now. He’s already got an elite WR in DJ Moore, and the results still aren’t good enough to justify keeping him.

At least, not for the long term, he is in no way a QB you want to pay the bag to by any means. So no reason to waste a prime opportunity to take a swing on a younger rookie, so you can continue to build the roster up without being beholden to a huge QB contract that restricts how much you can spend.

I’d rather have the season over right now and not have to torture myself anymore
