Nope. Its about platforming a rightwing movement that the funders of the buyout can use to take control of the American body politic.
Remember how he lost a poll asking if he should step down?
He only follows through when he agrees with the outcome, just like he only supports free speech if he agrees with the speech... He would've brought Jones back either way, because he wants Jones on the platform.
It's like letting out the mutineers to help throw buckets of water out of the sinking ship. It's still going to sink and you will drown surrounded by terrible people.
