I mean yes America does have a history of destroying countries and then opening up an adoption market there to profit off of the destruction. If this person was capable of reason, they would be shocked to hear that this has mostly been for the benefit of straight Americans, with some gays sprinkled in only recently. 
Every single Asian person I've known who was adopted by white people have had deep and fucked up self-hate issues so I personally think there is something deeply problematic with international adoptions on a systematic level.

Transracial adoptions can be fucked specifically because of preexisting racial disparities. Imagine having kids at school call you the n word and “cotton picker” all day and when you tell your white parents, their advice is that bullies are looking for attention, so you should ignore them.
I had a similar situation (obviously with different racial slurs) and my first generation immigrant parents gave me the same advice. I love my parents and they were doing their best, but some people just aren't equipped to understand the racial dynamics of a Westoid school.
