Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

I posted this a couple of years ago but it still rings true

When I tried to find this Youtube tried to force feed me a bunch of 'anti-woke' bullshit. Thanks algorithm!

Ricky Gervais getting bent out of shape over gender identification really fucking galling coming from a guy who insists we call him a comedian

What the hell happened to Ricky Gervais? He used to be so good giving the sheeple the middle finger they deserved, and then he started appealing to the lowest common denominator.

The problem with Ricky Gervais is not that he got less elitist.

Lmao Ricky has always gone for the lowest hanging fruit. He used to do reddit-tier atheist jokes, now he does reddit-tier transphobic jokes. He still makes mean-spirited tv. All the dude can do is punch down.
And then once a year insult celebrities with the easiest roasts available.

He's got the "Old white rich man syndrome". It's an inevitable condition that happens to any aging white man that managed to amass a certain amount of wealth.

I like him but I couldn't shake the impression that the audience was a bunch of black cutouts and that the laughter was a laugh track.

I believe that particular set of 4 performances was done during the height of lockdown.

Repertoire was form 2018 I think, unless he did another 4 parter I missed?

[–] Quexotic@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

In that case they have no excuse for the fake audience.

The parts i understood were hillarious 🤣

His bit interviewing the xenophobic british dude on the street is an all time banger too.

I came to the comments just to make sure someone had posted this too. I never thought I’d see a england-cool cis white edgy comedian be this based.

The whole set was pretty good

He was great on taskmaster too

[–] the_itsb@hexbear.net 17 points 2 years ago (1 children)

His book is great, too! He reads the audiobook, and it's worth every penny. My husband and I listened to it twice in a row and cried laughing both times. Cabbages forever!

[–] nothx@hexbear.net 13 points 2 years ago

I didn’t realize he did an audiobook version, I’m in.

[–] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago

He was amazing on Taskmaster, loved his blow ups.

[–] nothx@hexbear.net 20 points 2 years ago

He is so good. Very funny on all the British panel shows too.

[–] Dickey_Butts@hexbear.net 20 points 2 years ago

Huh, Milo Edwards is a better impressionist than I give him credit for

Hate to admit it, but yes
