What the hell happened to Ricky Gervais? He used to be so good giving the sheeple the middle finger they deserved, and then he started appealing to the lowest common denominator.
The problem with Ricky Gervais is not that he got less elitist.
Lmao Ricky has always gone for the lowest hanging fruit. He used to do reddit-tier atheist jokes, now he does reddit-tier transphobic jokes. He still makes mean-spirited tv. All the dude can do is punch down.
And then once a year insult celebrities with the easiest roasts available.
He's got the "Old white rich man syndrome". It's an inevitable condition that happens to any aging white man that managed to amass a certain amount of wealth.
I love James Acaster. His joke about the British Museum is one of my favorites.

I like him but I couldn't shake the impression that the audience was a bunch of black cutouts and that the laughter was a laugh track.
I believe that particular set of 4 performances was done during the height of lockdown.
Repertoire was form 2018 I think, unless he did another 4 parter I missed?
In that case they have no excuse for the fake audience.
