Wait is Micheal Jordan dead??

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 51 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Kelly loves including a still-alive person when he does his "people looking down from heaven" gag, e.g. Lohan and El Chapo

[–] goose@hexbear.net 31 points 1 year ago

He’s boxing with Muhammad Ali and RBG in heaven right now 🥲🙏

[–] The_Jewish_Cuban@hexbear.net 24 points 1 year ago

No it doesn't appear he is. There was a big hoax last year I guess.

[–] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 39 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I hate enjoying these, knowing how much of a LIB the real Kelly is.

[–] Aryuproudomenowdaddy@hexbear.net 40 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (4 children)

His last one really let the lib shine through. It was more funny to imagine him gnashing his teeth over Stewart than anything.

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago

Holy shit he must have been fucking crying while drawing this.

[–] zed_proclaimer@hexbear.net 13 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

This one feels less like satire and actually just what the author thinks, like he’s no longer in on the joke

Yeah that's the funny part.

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago

It's wild how enraged so many libs were by Jon Stewart, of all people, pointing out that 81 year olds are old

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

all’s white with the world

Acting as if Jon Stuart isn’t one of the Mount Rushmore heads of white people entertainment

Somehow both tackier and less tacky than I expected tbh

I expected it to have way more detailing and accents, but less just plain 'gold everything'

I suppose it's to be expected from a guy who literally has gold toilets

Golden toilet and golden hair. And he smells.

Doesn’t take a conspiracy theorist to connect the dots.

among-drip you may not like it, but this is what an ELECTABLE candidate looks like

Joe Biden would be the only sneakerheads whose whole collection would be fake Jordan’s. Being a broke Delaware politician is proof of my hypothesis.

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I can't enjoy these anymore now that I know kelly is a loser

[–] QuietCupcake@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's not like a huge surprise to me that Kelly turned out to be a lib, but did he do something particularly bad/cringe recently?

I'm not implying it didn't happen, but I can't find any reference to Stan Kelly with respect to Palestine or Israel either on the broader web, or here on hexbear except for this comment by @Egon@hexbear.net a few days ago. There are some sparse google/duckduckgo results for Ward Sutton but they're behind a paywall. What did he say/draw? Has there been discourse about it?

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I too saw that comment and I googled it and thought I remembered seeing something, but I don't anymore, may have hallucinated that then I guess, work is so fun

[–] QuietCupcake@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago (2 children)

ok, I think I may have found the offending cartoon. It is under Ward Sutton and I had to archive a Boston Globe (ugh) article, but this is a pretty obvious shit take: https://archive.is/g3c2I

I wouldn't call it pro-Israel, but it is just a rehash of the insipidly ignorant "it's complicated" cliche, which now does carry water for the genocidaires. Personally, I think it's a forgivable take only given it was said right after Oct 7th when genuine ignorance on the issue was still possible. It's not possible anymore with the obvious evidence of genocide wide out in the open. I wonder if he still feels like it would be difficult to fit an appropriate slogan on the sign now.

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago

until he publicly disowns this he's dead to me

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Lmao. In all of those scenarios, Israel is at fault. Even the first panel, Israel is a contributing to the persecution because it’s not in its interest to encourage security for Jews in their home countries. They actively lobby for fascist policies and politicians who in return actively lobby for weapons and contracts with Israel. If the funding went towards anti fascism, Israel would be nothing more than a vacation destination.

And for the third panel, Israel has been using Hamas as part of their strategy of tension against other Palestinians. I’m not saying Hamas is controlled by Israel, but Israel has been documented by liberals of providing material support and looking the other way during insurgencies.

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm not finding anything on Israel-Palestine but here's one where he runs defense for Biden.

[–] QuietCupcake@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago

That is pretty gross. Looks like he saves his shittiest takes for publishing under his real name.

[–] Egon@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I remember seeing the offending comic posted here. I do not remember more than that. You might have more luck if you limit your searches to hexbear. there was also that Biden comic thats already been posted.

[–] QuietCupcake@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I found the comic itself at the Boston Globe and already posted a link to it in this thread. I did search hexbear a fair amount and found the Biden one mentioned quite a bit, but not the other one. Obviously it's possible I just missed it or it got deleted when someone wiped their account or something. Doesn't matter, it's linked below and it is indeed disappointing garbage.

[–] Egon@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Yeah its been a while since I seen the comic in question, and I admit I only half remember it, so the linked one might well be the one I was thinking of. Anyway thank you for your service rat-salute

Who in the fuck is BUSTER BROWN?

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

A cartoon character from the very beginning of the 1900s who had his own brand of shoes that somehow existed at least until the 1980s.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago

Kelly with the deep cut.

[–] plinky@hexbear.net 18 points 1 year ago (1 children)

10/10 why is truman concerned about the fit?

[–] Leon_Grotsky@hexbear.net 23 points 1 year ago

There is a Truman shoe company, it has nothing to do with the Archon Harry Truman. Not sure if that's the joke, or there is some other reference being made there.

[–] batsforpeace@hexbear.net 18 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

even the statue of liberty and the eagle are enjoying their new air trumps, dark brandon merch when?

Damn he is good. Take notes hexbear and one day you might have a fraction of this power.

[–] DickFuckarelli@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago

The Buster Brown reference is a deeeeeeeep cut.
