  1. We need a QB.
  2. It is pretty likely that we have the #1 overall pick.
  3. The #1 QB in the class is one of the most highly regarded prospects of the last decade.

This isn’t rocket science.

It’s his third season. If his future is still in question, that means it really isn’t and it’s time to move on

I’m not sure what your prescription is. You list Fields as a miss, and I agree with that. So even if your 22% success rate for 1st round QBs is accurate and representative (which I’d argue it isn’t because we’d likely be drafting a #1 or #2 overall QB, not just a first rounder), wouldn’t you prefer a 22% chance of finding the guy over a 100% chance of sticking with someone who isn’t?

I seriously question how someone could want to watch their team lose. I understand the draft pick impact, but whenever I actually watch a game I could never root for the Bears to lose.

I bet Josh Allen still wets the bed too, many people are saying this

I never thought I’d see the same Stockholm Syndrome that we did with Mitch, but here we are. I’m looking forward to the posts this offseason about how “we’re going to regret letting him go when he BALLS OUT as the Eagles backup next year”

Anyone who genuinely expected Bagent to come in and take the starting job was deluding themselves. He's a career backup at best, and that's perfectly fine.

He can retract all he wants, but he very clearly meant what he said.
