Hey, I'm well into my forties, and my home is littered with stuffed animals.

The admins of hexbear use the algorithm of more dog post = more downvotes. They're all under control from big cat.

It's possible. Your best bet, going forward, would be to not get sick (if possible). Do you mask and avoid indoor eating? I'm not trying to blame you, just look out for your future.

Sorry. I have a paywall bypass extension on my browser. I didn't realise that people couldn't open it.

Like we fucking said months ago. So all the X number is Israelis who died on 7 October that was tossed around was indeed bullshit.

[–] ButtBidet@hexbear.net 4 points 11 months ago

Not defending anybody, you're right they should advocate more. But coming from someone who does advocate all the time, it's fucking exhausted with all the shit one gets back from people. I'll often let obvious call outs at work since it's just gonna cause pointless drama.

PG's husband and friends aren't advocating for prevention

Her family is just doing the social media thing to pay the bills. Agreed though, I wish more stepped up.

IMO it's not something that I would attack you for, it's borderline. I guess it wasn't your intention.

Since you're asking, personally I wouldn't say sentence that out loud.

I should have known better, as the whole critique the aristocracy from the inside genre is terrible as fuck. Napoleonic novels (as boomer Americans call the genre) have the slowest dialogue of patricians talking in French in their fucking palaces. And it's basically autobiographical. OMG, be a "writer" and think up new material. Of course, I had to try as the book got great reviews. I thought I'd try it with Anna's Archive being so easy.

Fuckkkkkkkk the long boring ass battle scenes. OMG pls talk less and have more explosions. The beginning of the book is just 1000 pages of Pierre fumbling his way through the Russian aristocracy. I thought that my hentai brain couldn't stand some old slow book from a bygone era, but I'm checking this shit and it was released in 1869!

If I was some closeted horny dude like Tolstoy who loved impregnating my serfs and pretending that I'm a good lord, a book with a loser who meets Napoleon would get me hard. Why can't more books be like DaVinci Code? I wanna discover the conspiracies throughout the art world of Europe and a balanced protagonist, thank you.

Hahahaha bugs-no

I should have known better, as the whole cowboy genre is terrible as fuck. Westerns (as boomer Americans call the genre) have the slowest dialogue, the corniest patriarchal story-line, and are obviously filled with a heap ton of other problematic bits. Of course, I had to try as the game got great reviews. I thought I'd try it with the Steam summer sale.

Fuckkkkkkkk the long boring ass cut scenes. OMG pls talk faster and have dialogue that's interesting. The beginning of the game is just 30 minutes of video and riding your horse so slowly through the snow. I thought that my TikTok brain couldn't stand some old slow game from a bygone era, but I'm checking this shit and it was released in 2018!

If I was some prat who loved the mythology of the "settling of the west", a game with a white dude on a horse on a mountain would get me hard. Why can't more games be like Atomic Heart? I wanna defend the land of Stalin and have cut scenes with ~~good dialogue~~ a talking glove that debates theory and a sexy refrigerator that probably wants to murder me.

I wouldn't wish this life on my worst enemy.

It's normally very quiet at this time

Let's Go!

I honestly don't know this issue well, despite reading and hearing about it heaps. I'm sure that many of you have good opinions on this.

Hi my name is ButtBourdeight, I like well trimmed lawns, steaks, and cops.

Today, CDC recommended the updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccines and the updated 2024-2025 flu vaccines to protect against severe COVID-19 and flu this fall and winter.

It is safe to receive COVID-19 and flu vaccines at the same visit. Data continue to show the importance of vaccination to protect against severe outcomes of COVID-19 and flu, including hospitalization and death. In 2023, more than 916,300 people were hospitalized due to COVID-19 and more than 75,500 people died from COVID-19. During the 2023-2024 flu season, more than 44,900 people are estimated to have died from flu complications.

Updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 Vaccine Recommendation

CDC recommends everyone ages 6 months and older receive an updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine to protect against the potentially serious outcomes of COVID-19 this fall and winter whether or not they have ever previously been vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine. Updated COVID-19 vaccines will be available from Moderna, Novavax, and Pfizer later this year. This recommendation will take effect as soon as the new vaccines are available.

The virus that causes COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, is always changing and protection from COVID-19 vaccines declines over time. Receiving an updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine can restore and enhance protection against the virus variants currently responsible for most infections and hospitalizations in the United States. COVID-19 vaccination also reduces the chance of suffering the effects of Long COVID, which can develop during or following acute infection and last for an extended duration.

Last season, people who received a 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine saw greater protection against illness and hospitalization than those who did not receive a 2023-2024 vaccine. To date, hundreds of millions of people have safely received a COVID-19 vaccine under the most intense vaccine safety monitoring in United States history.

Updated 2024-2025 Flu Vaccine Recommendation

CDC recommends everyone 6 months of age and older, with rare exceptions, receive an updated 2024-2025 flu vaccine to reduce the risk of influenza and its potentially serious complications this fall and winter. CDC encourages providers to begin their influenza vaccination planning efforts now and to vaccinate patients as indicated once 2024-2025 influenza vaccines become available.

Most people need only one dose of the flu vaccine each season. While CDC recommends flu vaccination as long as influenza viruses are circulating, September and October remain the best times for most people to get vaccinated. Flu vaccination in July and August is not recommended for most people, but there are several considerations regarding vaccination during those months for specific groups:

The following statement is attributable to CDC Director Dr. Mandy Cohen:

“Our top recommendation for protecting yourself and your loved ones from respiratory illness is to get vaccinated,” said Mandy Cohen, M.D., M.P.H. “Make a plan now for you and your family to get both updated flu and COVID vaccines this fall, ahead of the respiratory virus season.”

My job tends to push me well beyond 8 hour days & 5 day weeks. I feel like my job requires a ton of emotional labour, and I find that super draining. Normally when I'm working, I'm falling behind in sleep and self-care. If I have free time, often times I need to just chill out and rest. I tend to put something pointless on YouTube or Netflix just to relax.

When I have some time off, my body stops screaming to slow down. I catch up with sleep and exercise. I can read as much as I want to. I touch base with old friends who I haven't talked to in a while. I can do much more IRL activism. Basically, I become the person I wish that I was normally.

God I wish I had some passive income coming in so this could be my life. Everyday would be a vacation. I'd probably go to the office and waste my employees time with meetings so I'd feel like I was doing something. I'd go to a Global South country, pretend I'm volunteering, and meet other trust fund kids who think they're making a difference. If I had enough capital, I'd found some NGO that makes freedom maps, and the DPRK would get a very sinister colour. I could go to cocktail parties and brag about how my NGO is making a difference. That it's all funded by the exploited labour of my workers is easily forgotten after 3 martinis.

Looking back at the past, I can't see any path that I would become a capitalist, as there was no chance of me getting capital, except becoming an especially evil sort of grifter. Maybe I'd be a very different sort of person if my parents left me a 5 million nest egg.

But the pro-Palestine activists are anti-semites. I'm waiting for the ADL to condemn this.

A Conservative student association has been condemned after attenders at one of its events were filmed singing a Nazi marching song.

Footage showed a group of people at a black-tie dinner hosted by the University of Warwick Conservative Association dancing to Erika by German composer Herms Niel.

The song was frequently played at military events in Nazi Germany and has also been used by modern white supremacist movements. Its lyrics are not explicitly political, but Niel was a member of the Nazi party and personally conducted bands at Nazi rallies.

The Sunday Times, which published the clip, reported that it was shot at the association’s annual chairman’s dinner at a hotel in Leamington Spa. Just before the clip ends, someone out of shot can be heard saying: “Don’t film.”

The Union of Jewish Students described the clip as “utterly abhorrent” and said it showed “blatant and unchallenged support for nazism”, adding: “Glorification of the Nazis has no place in our society, especially on campus. It is in no way acceptable and must be widely condemned.

“We expect swift and decisive action from the University of Warwick and the Conservative party. Actions must have consequences.”

The association told the MailOnline that it “wholeheartedly condemns the behaviour exhibited during this video and apologises for any offence that has been caused”.

It said Erika was played for a “brief period” after a request from one member to the DJ and was “not included in the preplanned music selection handed to the DJ”. The clip was taken at a dinner of the University of Warwick Conservatives Association.
