Wait, a large userbase is required for an instance to federate with every community? I thought you could host a single user instance but still be federated with everything that you don't explicitly block.

I'm taking emergency medical training. Plugging holes is better than making them.

I guess I meant it symbolically. But help me think of something better and I'll change the format for the next one.

Using a PC

I can emulate any region I want if a disk is region protected.

Image and video generative models have a real hard time making ugly things. Try asking one to show you a baby bird, none of the things it generates will look like Bernie Sanders.

I've totally done some things with dd which could have been in an episode of Silicon Valley.

These are all unique and different projects with their own codebases, devs and issues. If you want to learn more, try searching for their official git repos. If you want to see a quick list of YouTube related apps, with screenshots, feature lists, and links to the project pages then I suggest using F-Droid with the IzzyOnDroid F-Droid Repo enabled, and just searching youtube.

For a bit more details on how yo do that check out my other comment https://lemmy.world/comment/15622037.

Schools are surveilling kids. (Full stop)

I think it's important to ask some basic questions to all affected school district superintendents.

  1. Why is the school resorting to surveilling my child?
  2. What data is collected on my child?
  3. Who do the schools share my child's information with?
  4. How is my child's data collected?
  5. When is my child's data deleted?

I'm sure you an come up with more.
