Naturally, when Australia is finally developed and consolidated as an independent capitalist state, the condition of the workers will change, as also will the liberal Labour Party, which will make way for a socialist workers’ party. Australia is an illustration of the conditions under which exceptions to the rule are possible. The rule is: a socialist workers’ party in a capitalist country. The exception is: a liberal Labour Party which arises only for a short time by virtue of specific conditions that are abnormal for capitalism in general.

Unfortunately, Labour is still liberal and isn't very different from the Liberals at all these days.

Too many steps involved. The best tip for running a business is to be born rich - master this and you can't fail nerd

I'm kinda in two minds about it.

On the one hand, I was was a late developer who suddenly found herself being one of the smartest kids in class. Going from 0-100 in a span of 2 years was a very weird place to be, and if I had to be made fun of for something, I'd prefer it to be because I'm such a damn nerd rather than being a fucking dumbass. I guess that's where the wanting to be special comes from - maybe it's to compensate for being at the bottom of my school/town's hierarchy for so long? On the other hand, I also want to lay low and be invisible and absolutely hate being in the spotlight.

So yeah, I'm pretty much the meme - inside me there's two wolves, and they're both fighting about whether I should strive to be "special" or just do something because it's fun and helpful, not because I want validation. Oof internal struggle session, not fun. But I can't wait until that inner reactionary dies.

Great idea, comrade! For those in Australia, this website connects you with a variety of services (meals, housing, funds/loans, domestic and family violence help, counselling, etc.). It works nationwide and helps you find support in your local area (though I haven't used it myself, so I don't know how helpful it is either):

Bill Gates:

[–] FailedAtAdulting@hexbear.net 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I suspect I have autism (haven't been formally diagnosed but the psychiatrist who diagnosed me with ADHD/ADD also thinks I have it) and while I tend to deep dive into the topics that catch my interest, none of them last very long. For example, in 2019 I was really into space travel, but that only lasted until 2021/early 2022 and now, I barely think about it at all. Two years ago I was into crocheting, but that has also died down. The only things that have sustained my interest for very long periods of time are main characters in my own stories (some of which have been written, some of which are only ideas in my head).

I've read some definitions in various places and I'm still not sure what a special interest is... and if I have them. What makes something a special interest, exactly? How can you tell? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask!

Jokes on you, mate! I don't even have a license, can't lose what you don't have think-about-it

It's very obvious that amerikkka is circling the drain now, but clearly this didn't just happen in a vacuum. It must've started crumbling at some point... but when?

Some people might say it started after 9/11, others might say it goes back to the Raegan administration. A few might even say it started after losing the Vietnam War, or when they went off the gold standard. Or maybe even earlier...

What do you think? three-heads-thinking
