The Chinese government stole my sex drive, literally

See, I told you they'd find a way to deal with the demographics issue

When Beijing’s top official for the city visited it in April, he did not meet the real estate developers association, which represents some of the richest families, raising questions over whether the interests of the wealthy clans are even a major concern to the top leadership.

Presumably questions such as "WTF?", "You do know what a communist is, right?", and "Have you recently been experiencing dizziness, eyesight problems, or weakness/numbness radiating from one side of your face, arms, or legs?"

An ultra is a communist who is obsessed with strict adherence to previous communist theory rather than considering what is the sensible thing to do in a given real-world economic circumstance. You may also know them as a "book worshipper" or "that one guy who legally isn't allowed within 200 metres of a DnD party"

To be honest, nothing is about the best you can get in a time capsule from the 19th-century United States. I was fearing it would be a Sioux skull or the flayed and stripped skin of a disobedient slave, or perhaps some kind of forgotten zoonotic disease. It was not a nice time

It's 2023, there's no such thing as a sextant on board. It has GPS, satellite-aided early warning devices, 14-day weather forecasts, echo sounding systems and IR and UV cameras seeing through fog, and they STILL plug their ears and close their eyes and keep going through the incessant beeping and droning and wailing and blaring and flashing of a thousand red alerts

We do not support the DPRK because of any supposed liberal-democratic trappings. We support it because despite suffocating under US-American pressure, its government compares exceptionally favourably to others with similar national wealth, eg. Somalia and Haiti, when it comes to development of its own material conditions as well as the quality of life; which is why it is frankly delusional to conceive of the West installing any government in North Korea, be it dictatorial or democratic, that makes better of the poor resources than the current one.

You hire a Chinese railroad contractor, you close it from 1-5am on a Sunday, and then you reopen it and inaugurate the extra Maglev platform that connects it to Rio de Janeiro

You can't just say gentrification as if the NYC subway were a part of town where poor people live! Oh wait

"How do you find around the subway?"

Uyghur: "I can either follow the grooves in the floor for blind people or I watch out for the signs that are in Mandarin, English, and my native script!"

American: "I cast daylight and roll 1d20 for perception"

It's much more fun to play the Bongcloud attack, where the king charges to the frontline and leads the troops into battle

"Nobody likes armed missionaries; the first lesson of nature and prudence is to repulse them as enemies" -- Maximilien de Robespierre

The reason: Patriotic Christian conservative values

The fear: Being afraid to kill and die as part of a war to install a puppet dictator that gives your boss proxy control over a pineapple plantation
