Sure, but the $ is signifying the following numbers refer to money. And people can write it differently than they say it. I will say "June 1st" much, much more often than "the 1st of June", but I will also almost always write it "01 June ".

But the reason it is much more common in the USA to write dates as "June 1, " is because that is how it is often spoken here. That doesn't need to be consistent across other speech and writing patterns, it's just how it developed. Probably goes back to the printing press like a lot of the other oddities in writing here...

Doesn't that only work as a sticky note if you normally only have a few tabs anyway, though? I understand it in principle, the tab is visually right there, but in practice it's the same as putting all the mail in an unsorted stack that you'll totally go through later.

Is there a country, West or otherwise, that reads English a different way? Since it's written in English.

"It's good quality, it won't break" And some customers take that as a personal challenge, and that's why there is a warranty

At least the numbers are sequential there, though...

You don't know that the kid hasn't already told the mom about the accident. It's not like she can come pick the kid up, it was her car that was crashed. Relying on a parent and asking them for help in a time of need doesn't mean the kid isn't also going to take responsibility. But the parent saying that fishing is more important is absolutely ludicrous. Sure, maybe the dad is too far away to be able to help at the moment, but he said he's too busy to even talk (yet not busy enough to prevent sending those texts).

Dorkness Rising is their second movie, and it makes a lot of references and throwbacks to the first.

Couldn't they have gone the other route and made the villain's plans a year later? But sounds like it was a lot of fun the way it was run!

I say this as an American, but these are Americans confused by the concept of fractions. Using grams would likely terrify them more.

Until you start selling a 1/3 lb burger to outcompete the 1/4 lb burger, but people are "4 is more than 3!" so your marketing fails...

Every relationship I've been in, my partner has found out/been told I'm a furry after we started dating, they were not a furry themself, and none of them have had any issues with it. I know that's just my own personal anecdote and experience, and maybe I lucked out in that regard. My personality is more than just being a furry, and it's just one aspect of who I am that a partner would have to be accepting of, even if they don't fully understand it themself (or even better if they do).

I fully understand the issues with the logistics. I get that the delivery people are often held to unreasonable standards and forced to insane expectations of quotas.

But, when there are 3 cars in the driveway, the lights are on in the house, and it's the middle of the afternoon, it is absolutely the delivery person's responsibility if they don't even knock. They don't even need to stick around more than 5 seconds, at least actually make the attempt.

Hello, everyone!

Recently I've watched a few tutorials on how to make a fursuit head, and have decided that's it's a project I want to take on myself! I've never owned a fursuit before, not have I worked on anything this detailed of a craft in the past. Some simple cosplays that took minimal alterations from base materials, basic sewing and clothing repair, that sort of thing. But I took up painting miniatures several years ago and made good progress by taking my time and being patient with myself; I figured I could do the same here!

Does anyone have any tips for someone working with shaping foam for the base, or tricks for working with the faux fur once I get to that point? I'd love to hear of other people's journeys, as well! I plan to share pictures of my progress as the head starts taking shape.
