I used to do something similar- I worked in a furniture warehouse. Unloaded trucks full of furniture coming in and loaded trucks for local deliveries and going to the stores going out. Steel frame electric couches and bed frames were the worst ๐

I think that the moneymen who hoped that genAI will be able to replace wide swaths of the workforce are running up against its limitations in implementation. The company I work for is using a genAI phone bot to make simple outbound phone calls, but it doesn't take any input. There's a planned interactive genAI phone bot, but because it was just making shit up, it's been stripped down to basically an IVR with a genAI voice. I know that senior management were all in on AI a couple months ago, and it really feels like they're trying to do something with AI to make them happy.
