I'm not currently playing any souls games but the craving is building so I might run through one of them soon. Currently playing a puzzle game called Isles of Sea and Sky and it's great, even as someone who's not good at puzzles.

Favourite NPC summon lore has to be Lucatiel. Like someone else mentioned, her lore develops with you as you progress. There's a notable moment and implications of another event in the late game that make it feel much deeper than other NPCs.

For non-lore related summonable NPCs it would be the homie Sellsword Luet. Dude has two great shields and a red eye ring to draw aggro. Absolute unit.

I kinda agree about the SotE bosses. There's so little breathing room in some of those fights that it just feels like you're forced to react the whole time. No strategy allowed, only dodge dodge dodge. And that's why I don't feel guilty using player summons, because it makes them a lot more fun. Probably will never solo PCR and that's ok, I suppose.

Keep playing TUNIC. It's great.

Someone else mentioned Death's Door which I see as TUNIC's overlooked cousin.

Some others that are similar, have either played them or purchased and not played yet, due to similar taste to yours:

Alwa's Awakening & Alwa's Legacy

Anodyne

Blossom Tales series

Fountains

Lunacid

The Messenger

Moonlighter series

Unsouled

I heard he exposed his epidermis in public!

Yeah. And it's not just them. People do this all the time. It's so obvious it's almost insulting.

I do want to see bushcraft content, but jfc, bushcraft posts go in the bushcraft pile.

Ok look... nobody is fooled that you've joined Lemmy 9 hours ago and are trying to self-advertise. You've been spamming your video link everywhere it doesn't belong, and not said a word otherwise. You're probably going to get banned once enough people get annoyed and report you for spam.

Lemmy users as a whole HATE ads.

If you want to share your video I recommend being sincere about it and put it somewhere like !Bushcraft@lemmy.ml Yes, it's pretty dead there. It could use someone to post content, like yourself. Just stop trying to disguise it, and instead be like "I'm a bushcraft Youtuber and I made a log cabin".

Best wishes from a bushcraft appreciator / Lemmy user.

I'm not really a Korn fan, but I had an urge to listen to them earlier today. Weird how the universe then put Korn in my shitpost.

I mean kinda, and I definitely see your logic. To be "that guy", though, the definition of a blizzard includes some specific conditions, at least where I'm from; 40 km/h winds, visibility of 400 metres or less, and it has to last at least 4 hours.

Wrong type of log for the shitpost community

Canada has implemented a new tax savings from December to February for some things like taxable groceries, crafts, and gaming physical media. I wanted to get a new Xbox controller and found the best price at Walmart for $55 a week ago. The tax holiday starts today and I now see that the $55 has increased to $62 and change, which is about how much tax I should be saving. Great to see this thinly veiled attempt to help Canadians ( /s - win votes) is just going to be extra profit in the corporations' pockets.

Currently I have a 1060GTX 6GB (Evga I think?). It struggled to run Elden Ring but was tolerable for me on medium settings - still it frequently drops from 60fps to 40fps or so, rarely able to stay at an even 60.

Can you suggest a modest upgrade compatible with my build? I'm not obsessed with getting max settings, but something that will work decently for 5 years or so would be nice. I don't have an exact budget in mind, but the absolute maximum I would consider is $400 Canadian (approx $300 USD). Prefer to save some money for performance and keep it around $200-$300 CDN, if possible

Here's my parts list started in 2016 - GPU listed is not the current 1060

It started about a week ago. I noticed a sticky feeling on my hands so I washed them (as I do regularly). Unfortunately it wasn't long before the feeling came back. I've started noticing it on everything I frequently touch - mouse/keyboard, Xbox controller, phone, on and on. I tried household cleaner, rubbing alcohol, water/soap on these surfaces and it seems to help for a short while, but it comes back within hours. Just now I gave my phone a good wipe with soapy water and as soon as it dried it feels sticky again.

I'm not sure what else to try or how to get rid of it.

Possible culprits I can guess at: -pollen? the cars around here have been covered in greenish yellow powder which I have seen before, but never experienced this stickyness. I don't use my car / touch the door handles very often.

-some sort of plastic or rubber is degrading, maybe my phone case? It's an Otterbox that's over 6 years old.

-a little weed container I bought around the same time this started, maybe the store had vape juice spilled on it? But I don't touch it often enough to warrant the spread of this profound stickyness.

Any ideas are welcome. It's driving me nuts.

RIP

The developer is talented but lacks the confidence to complete their work. Out of desperation they resort to the 'easy way out' and develop demos to scam supporters with no intention of shipping a finished game. Can one supporter whose belief in them/blackmail be enough to change their ways and finish what will undoubtedly be a smash hit?

I sure don't feel safe just ignoring it, considering the frequency.
