Yeah, so I'm newer here. But the negative comments are a bit out of control, especially when coupled with a lack of good faith dialogue/debate.

I don't think anyone expects people to agree with them on their takes, but the amount of "you said this thing I disagree with, so you are a clown, personally" type responses needs reigned in.

At least for me, it's made me dial back my interaction on this sub, and is the only sub I've ever reported users in.

If I were a GM, I would always trade out of No. 1.

If I were Bears GM, I'd take MHJ, trade the other pick, and take 3 OLs in the first 2 rounds if I can.

By my count, of the 37 QBs taken in Round 1 since 2011, only 8 have been what you can call a success for the team that drafted them, and only 1 sort of lead their team to a Super Bowl win (Wentz, but we all know that Nick Foles did that). That's a 21.6% rate of success. This is why looking for "generational talent" in the first round is a fool's errand. And when applied to this franchise that has shown very little ability to identify and develop QB talent in the draft, it's absolutely moronic.

Anyway, here's my list and Hit/Miss count. Note that there are more "hits" in recent classes b/c we don't know how they'll turn out (Burrow who I love, has 2 season ending injuries, Kyler Murray, one, etc.). I think it's too soon to say anything about 2022 class.

There's no denying losing that way blows, but going in, if you would have told me that the defense would look good for most of the game and JF1 would play well I would have taken it. I think this team is actually heading in the right direction. It's a young team, still short on talent in key positions, but competing with the division leaders.

But, fuck that loss stung.

Vikings also barely beat the Panthers tbh

It's indoors against a team that we lost to by less than a TD who isn't dominant. There's a reason Dobbs kept getting traded. It's winnable.

4-3, losses to Detroit and MN. The win over GB saves Flus's job and fields throws for 250 yards to convince Poles to take MHJ, trade second pick and get 2 more OLs in first 2 rounds.

Definitely my favorite reply.

It's not my bar of success, it's a bar of progress. I don't think teams go from where this team was 2 seasons ago to division champs in a season and a half. So just saying everyone sucks without any acknowledgement of process is silly to me.

I think there are 4 more winnable games (MN, ATL, AZ, and GB). Given that it's always been a rebuild project, I think we keep Poles, Flus, and Fields if we get 7 wins, especially if we look okay in the losses.

The team is on the way up, still playing hard, and I think 3 years is a more reasonable timeline.

Fields seems to have the locker room behind him, especially the talented players. That should matter more to people.
