They have nukes and military bases everywhere, it'll affect everyone, there's no way the mess stays contained within the US.

There's a certain type of person that is actually willing to shrink the pie as long as they get the largest part of it. You can criticise neoliberals for a lot (and you should), but their stated goal was to grow the economy and lift all boats that way. Obviously they ended up creating a system where most boats had holes in them, but they did lift the tide.

Trump is going to shrink the world economy, but him and his friends will end up owning an even bigger part (percentage wise) of US assets than anyone before. It's basically going to turn into post-communist Russia. Trump is the Yeltsin figure, the American Putin is waiting in the wings somewhere.

The way this typically works is that a cop will attack someone, knowing that the bodycam doesn't show anything up close except shaky footage while exclaiming 'stop attacking me' or something similar. It looks bad for the victim and juries fall for it. Let's hope there's footage from a wider angle.

I did notice that the Murdoch media lost a lot of the influence they once had. The only ones that still care about the front page of the Australian are politicians and other media.

The US supports the current military dictatorship and is apparently fine with the former prime minister bring locked up for no reason. And that's bipartisan policy, most of this happened under Biden.

Not sure if Imran Khan would've let things escalate as far as it has (or even would've allowed those initial terrorist attacks to happen).

And as for Trump, I don't have high hopes of him successfully negotiating a peace between 2 nuclear powers that have been at war since the 40s.

Not really their fault, most of the issues are design related.

Yeah, if you think the manhunt on Luigi Mangione was over the top, wait until someone takes a shot at an ICE agent 'trying to protect the country from illegal immigrants' or however Trump would frame it.

If anyone wanted to try it, they'd need impeccable opsec, because everyone in law enforcement will be looking for them.

Yep, the lesser Bush and Trump I shows that Democrats are not interested in punishing crimes committed by Republicans.

That's a great idea. Solves the entire issue in just a few generations.

Probably most of them. Cops routinely arrest people for no reason.

Not after they start taking offence to the books contained within.

You know, if you actually tried arresting political opponents when they do war crimes or foment insurrections, the country wouldn't be in its current predicament.
