Nature has an automated system when a species grows beyond the limit the ecosystem can sustain. They die, either from lack of food, or because they are hunted and eaten. Also, have children out of spite, and raise them to actually use their brains, to challenge the system. An vaccinate them, so they are around when the others die. Plant the seed of change in them, make them be a better adult than you. Give them the tools you didn't have.
