So I'm over here doing some light work outside, and I look at my phone to see when it's going to rain, and I come to find we have an air quality alert? Because of 4th of July fireworks? This "holiday" continues to be horrible.

As a tall person, I feel fully useless until someone calls me to hang shit up on the the ceiling or grab something on the shelf. Then I'm like
No!

wait I thought we liked nominal naomi? For a while the site tagline was telling me to read some research document of their's.
Oh no I’m mostly just referring to covid
Yeah I think the word you used, disappointment, is a good one. I’ve been having to come to terms with that in my own life, people who have not necessarily been horrible to me, but in whom I’m very disappointed and surprised honestly in their lack of principles. My relationship has changed with a lot of people, and honestly there are a ton of people in my life who I now feel like I can’t trust.
That classic parenting phrase - “I’m not mad, just disappointed” - is a good way to sum up how I’ve been feeling
No absolutely not. I think unless they've done something really egregious to you though, it's not worth getting too angry about. We all know the amount of propaganda we've been subjected to regarding Covid, the absolutely massive push to sweep it under the rug. To some degree I think you can understand why they're not masking anymore, even while understanding that it's wrong and dangerous and unprincipled.
Obviously if they've been really egregious about not masking around you and disregarding your (or your partner's) boundaries though that would be another thing, and a little more anger is justified.
Astrology is actually based on a system. This isn’t based on anything. I can just decide I’m a sigma one day and then I am. There’s actually a method behind astrology, natal charts and horoscopes, even if much of it is bullshit. There’s nothing underlying this.
Look, I'm not sure who created LGBTQ, but I'm trying to figure out how we can get them to LGBTQueue at the polls
but really I honestly don't get this big focus on the difference between generations. Maybe it's because I sort of straddle the line between millennial and gen z and have good friends in both camps, but gen z is not really doing that much that's new. Even gen alpha and their "skibidi toilet" that everyone is suddenly up in arms about is not really that different from the things that came before. Most of the characteristics of these generations that people are focusing have been around for a long, long time. Like three-quarters of their slang (which is really just Black slang) I've been using since at least 2010. You can even hear a good deal of "gen z slang" in old 90s hip-hop. And nearly all of their music and shit I can hear the beginnings of in all the shit that I used to listen to. Anime, fandom, cosplay, none of this stuff is new. Maybe because it's all more mainstream now, I don't know. But people treat gen z as this radical departure from some imagined norm, but if you've been paying attention for the last decade and a half it's not really new.
this one time a long time ago I had taken shrooms, and at one point in the night I was outside with my friend and I was pacing around really quickly ranting about something, and my friend says something like "bro you're too much right now, I need to sit down, do you want to take a seat with me?" and I put my face right up against his like as close as I could get without touching, and I just go "If we slow down, we die."
"If we slow down we die" has been randomly popping into my head for over a decade.
