within the past month? what all these people in Asia suddenly found a stockpile of machines with Win7 on them and all, collectively, decided "yeah lets just use these"?

I don't buy it.

yup they'll go the route of Sega. The writing has been on the wall with the Xbox Division for awhile now that I'm honestly surprised they're still trying to "make it work".

Xbox was a weird one. I haven't used one since the 360 and honestly I couldn't even begin to tell you what the next console in the line was after the 360. was it the series x? was it the one? I dont' know. I mean after buying like 5 360s because of red ring or whatever why would I continue that idiocy?

I use Bitwardens self hosted option, VaultWarden, that I run in a docker. works fine. I use it with the bitwarden CLI since I'm using QuteBrowser on all my machines. I then run a weekly backup of my vaultwarden to an external ssd.

Beauty of it is that it will also work with Bitwardens extension on chrome or firefox. So if I'm on another machine and I need access to my PW's I can just install the extension, add my self-hosted vaultwarden, then remove it when i'm done.

I deleted it because the GNOME users were getting annoying.

yeah I thought I was an Arch addict up until like 3 weeks ago when I decided to give NixOS a go...I just can't imagine myself anywhere else right now.

COSMIC is a decent middle ground but I find it a bit heavy/slow for what it can do right now. The option for stacked and tiling is nice, the customization is lacking and is no where near KDE but it's slightly better than gnome, slightly.

The other week had a GNOME dev reply to a thread of mine on mastodon stating that the users desire to select a default terminal emulator was an "edge case" and it was beneath GNOME. then all the GNOME fanboys came out to his defense.

It's an insufferable DE and community.

it's a direct result of global economies. When things are bad financially the scapegoats are ALWAYS immigrants and the poor. always. every single time. "Things are tough for you? well it's that group over there...it's their fault!" and collectively our society in their infinite wisdom consistently fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

However unlike other countries Japan isn't pumping out kids regardless of the scape goats. So compared to other places this rhetoric coming from them is extremely idiotic. And if a Japanese person believes this is the way forward then I hold them in lower regard than your average MAGA cultist. I didn't think you could have a population more stupid than MAGA but Japan, good job, you proved me wrong.

welp guess I'll set up a Canadian instance for this today. I like it. good idea.

done. https://market.andmc.ca/

PLEASE NOTE FOR MY FELLOW CANUCKS: I'm just starting a test on it within the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) at like a 50km range. if it's fine after a couple days then i'll gradually expand it out. I DON'T have a lot of time to work on it today so It's very bare bones right now but it's up and seems to be working fine. have at it I suppose.

Second NOTE: I have no clue how to deal with a marketplace so as far as "rules" go i'm clueless so...don't be a dick.

it WAS a good deal early on. Also when they introduced their partnership with RIOT and it would allow you to unlock all the characters in LoL that was a very good deal if you were a League player.

but the price increases and what have you...meh. it was good to get access to some games and not have to pay full retail for them. I'm thankful I didn't pay full price for Starfield and just played it on gamepass but there would be months on end where there was nothing on there worth playing.
