honestly i don't even remember. i got my hair cut like 2-3 times/year before i realized just how eggy that was, but unfortunately, i got my haircut right before realizing i was trans
I used to have this bizarre thing I did that I called the "mouth test" where i would try and stick my hair in my mouth, and if I could, it was time for a haircut. Unfortunately, my current hair is like an inch short of even passing that. It's gonna be like 2 goddamn years before I can get it down to my shoulders

Damn you've got a road ahead of you, but it's satisfying when you get there. I had a terrible curly "afro" before I started, am now ten years without a length trim, this month in fact. It's sooooo worth it ✨ Only took me like, a year to get it past chinlength which was cool too, maybe you'll be lucky?
Edit: that "afro" probably wasn't terrible, my hair is beautiful and at shorter lengths it curls aggressively which is awesome. Just that having hair down to my ass is core to my identity now, lmao
