One thing I'll never understand about pedos is why they seem to all be like "It is my God-given right to possess CSAM / molest children actually, in fact everybody already secretly feels this way and you've all just been brainwashed into fear / you're all just cobalt-owning hypocrites"
Like it doesn't seem like it should be that hard to acknowledge an evil desire without acting on it, without trying to justify or rationalize it, and without hating oneself for it. Fucking skill issue lmao

Pedophilia isn't even a natural lust, it literally only exists in the context of a society that needs to inflict harm on children to reproduce itself

For pedophilia specifically? I don’t know about the statistics, but they used it to infiltrate pedo communities and Nazi groups (which I mean, are the same) - but even then there are rarely meaningful punishments when those targets are arrested. But felonies in general are attractive because they provide more leverage for cops. The FBI hired a violent felon to infiltrate and disrupt BLM during the George Floyd protests in Colorado
I don't really know anything about this phenomenon so forgive me if I ask dumb questions, but why would feds recruit pedophiles to infiltrate orgs? It's not like they have any special skills for that.
From what I understand, it's not so much their skills as an informant/agent provocateur that's appealing, as having them firmly in the pocket of the alphabet agencies. Knowing your handler can single handedly ruin your life (as credible allegations of paedophilia probably would) is one hell of an incentive to stay on their good side and do their bidding, as a matter of self-preservation. Knowing your agent is likely not gonna flip (like a lot of CIA/FBI did in the early Cold War) helps too.
Some may have desirable traits that doesn’t necessarily involve skill. And this goes for any criminal with a potentially hefty sentence.
For example, cartel drug dealers get turned because they may face extradition and are close with king pins. Some hackers or businessmen may be unremarkable but they control important illicit marketplaces which could net more gains for Feds. Pedos may be good at manipulation or simply have the means to procure children to compromise other targets. The BLM infiltrator the in my OP lied about ever serving in militias and fighting against ISIS. He was just a grimy, loud, violent asshole whose presence was intoxicating to the activists.
Regardless, the usual commonality between all of them is that their lives could be ruined, deservingly or not.
