He said he doesn't get sick because his body is free of toxins.

I love that organic food has become a CHUD thing now

Ask these people what a “toxin” is and they won’t be able to say much other than “bad thing”, despite the fact “toxin” does mean something specific.

The modern right has such a weird relation with "woo" stuff.

It's like they want to do hippy shit but also be super macho and anti-intellectual about it. So yes become a back-to-nature organic farmer, but also only raise pigs so you can eat nothing but bacon!

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 12 points 1 year ago

They've conflated "woo" with "retvrn", which I'd argue isn't surprising. The thing these people claim to want is for everyone to live on their own 10 acre property and never interact with anyone else. Results in a fetishization of "traditional" medicine over newfangled liberal vaccines.

Do not read up on hexagonal water, you will regret it and it's a lot more counterrevolutionary than hexbear users would initially believe.

Without looking it up, my first thought is “benzene.”

now?

it always has been. hippies are a chud subculture.

I definitely agree there was always a reactionary undercurrent to even the better elements of the "New Age" movement, whoever I do think it's earliest incarnation was coming from a place of cultural disenfranchisement with Cold War society. It's regressive undercurrent has only come more pronounced with time as the more genuine Leftist elements within it, what existed, died off.

I work a job where I go to people's homes, and a guy actually denied the service call because I was wearing a mask. I'm sure I have other customers who hate masks, but none of them really care about what someone else is doing, especially when that someone else is fixing your shit.

Utterly deranged

[–] emizeko@hexbear.net 10 points 1 year ago

lol amazing. the kind of lunatic trying to sell his unvaxxed loads online

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 25 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Back when people would have masks around their chins, I could generally get people to mask up by exaggerating a cough.

T'was extremely funny to do as a Chinese person in a 80+% white area.

sankara-salute Thank you for your service

How dare you remind him there's still a pandemic ongoing!

Masking at the grocery store in Burgerland, everyone gets the fuck out of my way which is a real bonus. Waiting for the day someone gives me shit over it and I can say "I don't need JOE BRANDON to tell me when I should or shouldn't wear a mask!"

improve-society Oi'm not catching a plague, me lord. All me humors are in order. Oi can toil away for weeks! you-are-a-serf

[–] nothx@hexbear.net 23 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’m at the point where if anyone says anything about my mask I’m just going to tell them that I have COVID.

[–] ButtBidet@hexbear.net 30 points 1 year ago (3 children)

You're probably right. I tell people that MY DAD DIED OF COVID TWO MONTHS AGO and althoughi expect a bit of sympathy, the common reply is "well he's old".

You fucking win, boomer.

[–] Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago

They win 1st place in the ultimate douche bag competition.

Honestly? Back in the day, saying something like that about someone's recently dead father would get you punched. I reckon we need to bring back fighting words.

[–] onoira@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 1 year ago

'your dad was a sacrifice that i'm willing to have made'

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago

Lie and say your son died of covid

[–] macabrett@lemmy.ml 22 points 1 year ago

He 100% gets sick, he just always uses the plausible deniability of "allergies" and "food poisoning" like most office worker plague rats.

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 20 points 1 year ago

Honestly I just like the fact that I don't have to do all of my makeup lol

Really enjoying my six foot tall physically fit looking white guy privilege when it comes to no one ever giving me shit about my mask
