The DNC would rather try to split the vote and let a Republican win than allow any sort of socialist leaning person into power

The DNC would rather drive itself entirely into obscurity than allow any socialist into power.

In this case it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the DNC. New York allows him to continue to run despite losing the primary because he already qualified to be on the ballot.

It’s dumb, because he’s already conceded the primary, and he knows doing so is divisive, but the silver lining is that New York has ranked choice voting, at least.

And the party should make it very clear that they support zohran and that is it. Along with formally kicking him (Cuomo) out anyway.

Id like to point out that Andrew Cuomo himself is not divisive, unlike Mamdani. I thought he made that very clear in the debates? /s

As a ‘vote blue no matter who’ person who’s interned for two democratic members of congress, I am increasingly viewing the DNC as an active threat to america on par with the GOP

Man I fucking wish Blue no matter who worked but God damn it fucking don't huh

The motto is frankly terrible and on its face a lowkey dig at actual genuine democracy...like spitting in our faces. Im actually glad the rabid reactionaries are taking it to you guys on that front, its just awful messaging. I am a blue collar rural worker, and from my perspective it seems we need nothing short of bolshevism. And fast. "Anti fascism" as a method for combatting fascism simply won't cut it.

I kind of like the old "better dead than red" that used to go around back in the day.

Well then there aint much i can do for you

Do you think Cuomo can really peel off that many?

Eh Probably not tbf. NYC hasn't elected a republican since Bloomberg and they generally lose by 30%

BULLSHIT. What a bunch of fucks.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They're ratfucking him. I think we need to spread that word, it's fun to say, people generally immediately understand what you mean when you say it, and it leaves less wiggle room than calling bullshit

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They’re trying. Whether they do or not remains to be seen.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, but that still means they're ratfucking him

I believe he'll overcome it, but never forget. Never forgive.

If you run in a primary, you shouldn’t be allowed to then turn around and run again under a different party or as an independent. You’re just wasting party resources, and everyone’s time.
