The overall structure and generous use of Oxford commas here tells me this was most definitely not written by Trump.

It's hilarious that whenever he needs to write something serious and/or remotely articulate, his team calls upon a slightly smarter, marginally more competent person to write it up and post it.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 18 points 4 days ago (4 children)

This person is also a terrible writer then.

[–] BenLeMan@lemmy.world 14 points 4 days ago

Maybe they're trying to emulate his style.

[–] markovs_gun@lemmy.world 12 points 4 days ago

They're trying to emulate Trump's style but failing at it.

[–] Jesusaurus@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago

Probably just ai trained on his rambling

[–] Stalinwolf@lemmy.ca 6 points 4 days ago

Lol, you're not wrong. I added a couple of key words (slightly and marginally) for better emphasis.

I just assume anything remotely coherent, albeit still insane, was written by Stephen Miller.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 3 days ago

I suspect he's dictating his words to someone

[–] fibojoly@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 days ago

It reads like something written by a panicked HR intern. It's embarrassing.

[–] blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 40 points 4 days ago

Hmm, the lady doth protest too much, methinks

[–] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 22 points 4 days ago (3 children)

does he try to pretend he didn't write this?

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 19 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Its literally his personal account too. Bro is just speaking in third person at this point. Toddler ass language usage.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 4 points 4 days ago

I don’t know, it doesn’t say “Thank you for your attention to this matter”

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

Cocaine does that?

Or someone else is writing it and became a but unhinged

[–] josefo@leminal.space 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I think he wants to impose certain level of legal authority this way. Like, his words are the official words of the USA or something. He then promptly interjects his own message with capitalized words, abuse of commas, and like others point out, toddler language, so his base still can recognize the bigger parts. The final result is, as expected, shit. Is the inconsistency what really bothers me in his style.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

I think the unnecessary capitalizations are the key.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

He's on cocaine, he probably dictates to someone to type it.

The Murdochs don’t own Fox News / NewsCorp. They have control over it, but don’t own it.

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Fox News is owned by the fox corporation. You’re correct, they don’t have majority ownership but

The company is controlled by the Murdoch family via a family trust with 39.6% ownership share, and by Rupert Murdoch himself to the effect of almost 40%.

It’s a pretty big portion of that big old shareholder vote

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

Fox News is run by his equally terrible son, Lachlan

[–] dellish@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Won three elections? Is he including the "stolen" one, or is this foreshadowing?

[–] Luvs2Spuj@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

Is the letter circulating anywhere that isn't behind a paywall? Or a summary of the content?

[–] kadaverin0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Remember that half of a country reads these demented screeds and thinks "This is completely normal and I should support this great man".

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Not nearly half, and of the faithful, I've seen that they just shake their head and ignore it.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What is this Lie” in the upper left corner with cut out text above it? Do you “Report Lies” on truth social?

[–] teft@piefed.world 6 points 4 days ago

His website calls tweets “truths” so the person posting the pic changed it to lies since nothing from the orange turd is ever a “truth”.

[–] notsosure@sh.itjust.works 9 points 4 days ago

Bring out the popcorn!

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 3 days ago

That smug grin makes me unreasonably angry every time I see it. That's a face that hasn't been punched nearly enough.

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

Where is “this letter” published? I’d like to read it. (Streisand effect activate!)

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Jimmy might have a compound fracture! Jimmy's going into shock!

[–] obsolete@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 days ago

Although they both have a lot of haters, this could be an opportunity for people to side with Murdoch over Trump.

[–] Numenor@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago
[–] Drusas@fedia.io 3 points 4 days ago

This is way too articulate to have been written by Trump.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

This is what happens if you snorted a whole line of cocaine

[–] notsure@fedia.io 2 points 4 days ago

...and when they let the beast go, it was un-tameable...
