I'd love to know just how Hate Dept saw this playing out. Like they're too popular to get dropped? π€¦π»
What a ridiculous self-own.

My guess is that Steve was figuring the organizers would just grit their teeth and put up with it. Which they very well could have. But didn't. Which is why I pointed it out.
Why would they even want to play to an audience of people they don't want as fans etc boggles the mind. Perhaps trying to reclaim their relevance from before their own actions blew it up. But without changing those actions that would never work.
Thankfully some groups do and have made that effort. Joe Letz has been kicked out of more bands than most people have probably ever been in. And, thankfully, I heard that he was more than expelled not long ago from a band that I used to really like. So I can go back to listening to them without fear of supporting him in any way.
Damn, I wish I knew this existed back when I lived in NYC
Well, at least they don't suffer for choice up there. Between murder of crows, dark force fest, and a number of others. There's something regularly going on throughout most of the year, I think.
Honestly, the only reason my Midwestern ass knows about them is because I have a couple of good friends that are heavily in the scene up there. with an open invitation to come up and see the shows while helping out at their booths. Something I should take them up on one of these days.
I'll bet you'd have a blast π
Well, seeing as on a number of occasions. We have been watching random strangers footage of some of the events at the Bowery. Saying, who is that in your place there by the stage? Oh, it's you. And joking that basically she's practically a fixture there. You are probably not wrong.
This bums me out, I like Hate Dept.
Yep. I liked Imperative Reaction, and to an extent the Gothsicles. Though the Causticles were the superior article. And Matt Fanale is still the man.
Glad they made this decision. A couple years ago I had a bit of extra clothes money and several t-shirts died at once so I bought a couple Punk Rave & Devil Fashion t-shirts off that vampirefreaks web store. It was one of the few places that shipped from the US and I figured at least they put on that concert.
Dark Forces was such a fun game. Liked the sequels too. Helpmeob 1!
never played the sequels, but I do have the original on CD still
