What am absurd ruling. I feel like it’s actually a strategic FU ruling by the judge to show how stupid recent Supreme Court decisions are.

It's like this administration heard all the conspiracy theories over the decades and said "yeah that sounds great! Let's do it."

Holy fucking shit, I grew up with a gun nut extremist father (who also literally narc'd out s neighbor for the FBI at one point)...

... and I learned all about how the stickers the USPS put on mailboxes to indicate service priority/regulsrity were actually a form of signage for when uh... Clinton, Bill, was gonna do a police state take over and round up all the gun owners... stickers were supposed to identify armed dissidents by threat level, donchaknow?

They're gonna Ruby Ridge all of us one day!

Fucking fast forward 25 years and this idiot fascist muppet dittohead dad of mine has spent a decade supporting the obvious fascists who have basically enacted his delusional nightmare scenario.

Jesus fucking Christ.

I still remember him saying Trump was basically gonna be a RINO.

Uh, yeah, I guess technically yes, but in the opposite direction.

We got Karl fucking Rove on Fox News today with charts and graphs trying to explain to Republicans how fucking stupid Trump is.... fucking oopsy doopsy Karl, 25 years of destroying public education renders your voter base more stupid than most dogs I've known, aw shucks.

Are they trying to get taken out by their own? What a weird thing to do.

The trump administration been pushing the left since inauguration trying trying to incite violence as a pretext for suspending the rule of law and habeas corpus. Nearly all the mass shootings are happening from members of the right. Perhaps trump officials simply see the right as easier targets to inciting violence (with the evidence of mass shootings) and are simply leveraging that to see if those on the right can be used as the pretext instead.

No matter what is in the constitution, they don't want organized militia to brandish guns against the regime, so they start to weed out people/groups that should not have a gun in the near future...

What is better than to have a list of names beforehand, to use as a base to track and keep an eye on their online movements...

Only sanctioned groups shall be allowed to have guns to act as a firewall "against enemies within", when a real insurrection pops up.

They don’t care. Remember, every time one of their own murders one of their own, it’s a fresh opportunity to blame the antifa.

Whelp, that's bingo, folks! All I had left on my "Constitutional Violations" card was "2A", for a full black-out. Give me my stuffed banana!

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And where would you like the banana to be stuffed?

"Don't forget, you're shoving a pineapple up Hitlers ass at 4pm."

If they manage to seize complete control of the US and destroy the Constitution, they will take all your guns. It will happen.

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I will be interested to see how many of the 2A nuts willingly give their guns up.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 1 points 1 week ago

Very few. They already don't trust the government, no matter who is running it. They should never have been allowed to have a weapon of any kind, including sharp car keys.

It's not quite as bad as the headline suggests. What they're asking for is a list of members that are already party to the case Reese v. ATF. It's still a very bad look and I'm glad that both the SAF and the GOA have refused to provide the list and are going to fight the release.

Which group? AFAICT the screenshot doesn't identify which organization is affected by the order.

I've seen "among them the Second Amendment Foundation and Firearms Policy Coalition" mentioned elsewhere.

The DOJ is actually joining with the plaintiffs in asking the judge to fix the ruling so that the disclosure isn't required. Copy of the filing here: PDF

That’s cool. You got a lot of them jpegs with the pixels but not a lot of them links with the sources.
