Growing up an Xbox guy mostly I’d say it’s pretty cool as I transitioned to PlayStation 5 this year. Graphics look intense for the remake of the original. I’ll definitely be purchasing the remake when it comes out

Halo's been dead for years. The corpse twitched with Infinite, but it's still very much dead. I don't care anymore. This feels like a shameless money grab anyways after they already remastered it once.

Looking forward to this allowing Microsoft to show a picture of a PS5 and use it in their "This is an Xbox" marketing push though. That'll get a nice little gust of air from my nose

The less console exclusives in general the better.

Ratchet & Clank on Steam and PS5? Great!

Halo coming to PS5? Great if you're still into the series.

Now we wait for Hell to freeze over and wait for the Devil themselves Sintendo to eventually fold.

Stopped being interesting after 3.

Games libraries have grown so large it's no longer the only game you can play with your friends.

The co-op campaign is the best thing about them.

Now that it's coming to PlayStation we can be pretty sure Xbox consoles are dead.

Pretty much the end of Xbox. No reason to buy one going forward.

As for the game itself? I don't feel the need to buy it again, I already own the original and the Master Chief Collection.

As someone who doesn't believe in console exclusivity, good.

The fewer console exclusives, the better IMO. People should have choices on which platform to play a given game.

Console exclusives always seemed stupid to me. That said, I always preferred Xbox controller layouts.

After 3/ODST, Halo was effectively over once Bungie sold off the IP. I've heard the new version is using AI in some capacity. If I really wanna play it, I'll just play MCC on PC.

2 and 3 are where the story really got exciting. It's fun to play the games in strictly chronological order, where you play all of Reach and 1, 2 for a bit, switch ODST, finish 2, then play 3. Extremely satisfying.

As a former Sega fanboy, this all feels vaguely familiar.

GamePass on PS5... that will be the end of Xbox.

Halo Reach duos was my peak Halo time. I enjoyed playing it with a friend of mine, we used to play duos for hours. Seeing it on PlayStation feels kind of weird, but if they do cross platform play, I won’t complain.

That said, I haven’t played in a few years and I don’t really see myself picking it back up.

I have always played Halo on a PC so I really have no feelings on it.

I think someone finally pulled their head out of their ass. Platform exclusives are fuckin' stupid in this day and age. It only ever made sense when each console was a very specialized machine and not basicially a PC with slightly different specs.

Instead of trying to make up the loss on the hardware by forcing people to get that hardware to play a game, they should be trying to make up for it in game sales, across multiple platforms. Sony needs to do the same thing (and they are sorta kinda moving toward this, but at a glacial pace).

Now, specifically Halo... I really don't care. I never got into Halo outside of the couch multiplayer. I think of it like Goldeneye; it did something in a very specific space that worked great in that time and place, but it's not actually a super mind blowing game.

They realized they can’t outdo the original so… remake time. Nice to see that PlayStation’s finally getting a taste though.
