“When you find out the North Pole is trying to bring more bureaucratic overreach & unfunded mandates down the chimney disguised as “Christmas cheer.” Not on my watch,” the Republican posted on his X account Thursday morning.

“We The People run Indiana, not the bureaucrats,” he added. “Take it back to the North Pole big guy.”

Is this the fabled right-wing comedy I've been hearing so little about?

He attempted the mythical third conservative joke. He failed.

I'm not offended or bothered by it.
It's just super werid, and I don't understand the message he's trying to make. Like is he against capitalist consumer culture? Is he fighting Santa because Christmas is for Jesus? Or is Santa socialized gifting, and he's for capitalism? Or does he just want to look like a superhero beating up someone, and didn't think through who he was beating up?

Or when he's beating him up... Santa did his fucking job already the night before you stupid dumb fuck. Why are you beating him up the next fucking morning?

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 10 points 1 week ago

Probably something to do with not getting what he wished for. Somehow I'm reminded of Eric Cartman now.

Because they believe in vengeance not justice

So...yes on his watch, then.

[–] mrbeano@lemmy.zip 18 points 1 week ago

Yes, I just don't even get what he thought he was trying to do.

Look, we all know he's acting out some daddy issues, but as a politician your daddy issues should at least be used to make a coherent point. To someone.

The war on Christmas is getting brutal.

[–] apftwb@lemmy.world 43 points 1 week ago

But... Why beat up Santa? Santa is unanimously considered the good guy. Who was this for?

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 24 points 1 week ago

Regular evil just wasn't enough for the republican party, they had to go cartoonishly, comically evil

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 22 points 1 week ago

So he’s against both Santa and snowflakes. Sounds like he just hates Christmas.

Make a fake picture of me beating up someone that is viewed favorably by 90% of the country. That will help shore up my support. Then have someone inject me with my insulin and help me swallow my Viagra before my 1pm appointment at the child brothel

Calling the Coca Cola mascot adopted into tradition a "symbol of Christian generosity" is a bit of a stretch but its more bizarre to claim that beating up said mascot is symbolic of being politically opposed to bureaucratic overreach.

I don't know what's funnier, his bare arms (for some reason?) or this response to the backlash. He's not a bright bulb.

“Lots of intolerance, swearing, and outrage on display over a few AI pics I had a blast designing with my kids,” Garten said. “Some of you clowns are just insufferable. Hopefully your negativity stays in the comments and not directed at your families.”

“Merry Christmas, snowflakes!” he added.

That's weird, they're all white. Isn't that interesting?

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

And this is the state that celebrates it being the first to desegregate schools. They're still racist as fuck. The mascot for their capitol's minor league baseball team is Robert E Lee's horse.

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

The war on Christmas is coming from inside the bicameral.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 week ago

So it turned out the War On Christmas was inside the right wingers the whole time...

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Imagine trying to explain this to your kid.

He’s just missing the Chippendale’s cuffs.

Just when you think Republicans can’t top themselves

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 4 points 1 week ago

He was probably referencing Atlas Shrugged. You know, the bit that was originally a titan of industry monologuing about wanting to kill Jesus Christ because he represented the evil of altruism, until Rand’s editors made her change it.

Wow that is... Very real looking.

[–] ArachnidMania@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm thinking it's photoshop over some AI crowds, santas in mostly the same pose for the batch of photos, and the AI blurry weirdness only seems to show up in the crowds to me.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Same pose, different angles. I suppose the kids may have done it, but that looks like some finely done isolation and head swapping if they're pasted over the crowd. Plus, all that kicked up snow? I've never been like a Hollywood level photoshopper, but this seems pretty difficult. Maybe I'm out of touch though.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not be that guy, but it's really not that hard for the snow. You layer with different opacity levels and 2 different paint brushes in white.

Starbucks needs to sue this man

[–] Knightfox@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

This just doesn't make any sense to me, like I could get it if he had Biden in a Santa outfit, but this is just Santa. Why would Santa bring bureacratic overreach? Why is this guy making Santa political, and if he is going to do so, why bring him as the opponent? He could have Santa delivering guns or he could have Santa tackling Biden, Hillary, or Obama. While the idea of corrupting Santa as being pro-conservative is horrible, I can't think of any reason to portray him as an enemy and attack him. What's next, beating Jesus to death with his own cross to fuck the libs? This is just stupid.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone -1 points 1 week ago

I, for one, am extremely impressed by his manliness.

[–] NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world -2 points 1 week ago

This guy sucks and all, but I unironically fucking love this.
