Posobiec, speaking from Minneapolis, insisted that "Bolsheviks" were "radicalizing the moms out in the suburbs, out in middle America."

"Think about these two women who showed up yesterday," he said of Good and her wife, Rebecca Brown Good. "One is dead. One, by the way, I would argue, is complicit in the killing, is complicit in the killing of Renee Good."

they are trying to pivot the anchors of discourse. Instead of outrage over such a heinous overstep, there is outrage over making her SO a felony murderer. Arguing the premise of assholes...

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 35 points 16 hours ago

That ... Is some grade 10.0 mental gymnastics.

She murdered her wife because her wife was scared of the monsters that were about to o murder her so she tried escaping the situation so her wife murdered her by.... I don't even know, I can't do yhis

These guys are class A mental athletes

[–] plz1@lemmy.world 7 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Damn, that is a stretch. And I'm sure, if she could be prosecuted for being an accomplice murder, they'd still find a way to blue shield the actual murderer.

My take: Either the murder happened and the ICE agent is a murderer, or it wasn't a murder and there is nothing to be accomplice to.

[–] Aljernon@lemmy.today 2 points 10 hours ago

That is the reasonable take, not just your take.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 55 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (1 children)

This is bullshit that doesn't deserve to be shared.

It's washed-up, hateful podcasters and former conservative influencers saying radical nonsense for attention. They're not in any capacity shaping any policy or public sentiment. I'm sure there are more than a few MAGAs who agree with this sentiment but we have to stop taking shit like this as seriously as we have, we have to start focusing on what's actually happening, not what washed-out nobody's are saying should happen, and right now even much of Trump's base is turning against this entire operation. They don't want you to know that, they want you to think they're an immovable object and still have unity, that's why they're saying this kind of thing, to keep you from leveraging the fractures in their party.

Shame on MSN for giving it any light of day, shame on OP for trying to get upvotes for sharing it, shame on MSN for being MSN too, but that's a whole separate conversation.

[–] Aljernon@lemmy.today 0 points 10 hours ago

They’re not in any capacity shaping any policy or public sentiment.

There are definitely losers out there that take these pricks seriously

[–] ObtuseDoorFrame@lemmy.zip 32 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (1 children)

Stop spreading rage bait. No one on Lemmy needs to know that these awful people are continuing to be awful.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

While I do agree with you to a point, it is still important to stay informed and to have documented.

[–] ObtuseDoorFrame@lemmy.zip 4 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

This article is not an example of that. It's a bad-faith argument which isn't meant to achieve anything other than anger. It's meant to piss you off so you share it with your friends who become pissed off and then share it with their friends. By sharing this article you are helping them.

This one is particularly obvious. The woman who wasn't there is responsible for this murder? Obvious nonsense.

This is thinly-veiled homophobia.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 2 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

You're absolutely right.

OP's overview is literally the entire article. I'm definitely guilty of just knee jerk reaction.

Still don't doubt bannon actually said this. But mod was right when taking about aggregation sites. Msn is garbage barely more than tweet.

[–] ObtuseDoorFrame@lemmy.zip 2 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

Now that I've thought more about this "article" I think it's meant to do two things: make the left angry, and let the right know that Renee was gay, and therefore her life was worthless. It's not like Bannon can just create an article titled "she was gay btw." This is much more effective.

I think she was technically bisexual, considering her previous marriages to men, but it's not like these bigots care about nuance.

I don't blame people for having knee-jerk reactions. I do blame them for not listening to people telling them they're sharing rage-bait, and being hostile when it's pointed out. Leftists can be so fucking difficult to get along with.

[–] timbuck2themoon@sh.itjust.works 10 points 23 hours ago

Yes and this isn't news.

Why are we posting every dumb thought maga has?

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 30 points 1 day ago

This validates my theory that he killed the driver to spite the spouse. At the end, the “fucking bitch” comment was in regards ti the spouse and not the driver.

[–] gedaliyah@lemmy.world 36 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hi, mod here.

In the future, please avoid sharing links from news aggregators. Sharing from the original source helps community health by providing transparency, and allows others to avoid reposting the same article.

[–] weaponG@lemmy.world 120 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Had to read that headline twice and am still confused a bit.

[–] Aljernon@lemmy.today 138 points 1 day ago (3 children)

MAGA influencers want the wife of the woman killed by police to get charged with murder for her death. They don't have a coherent reason why because they're MAGA but they definitely want to intimidate people who might consider opposing the government.

[–] teawrecks@sopuli.xyz 5 points 16 hours ago

The rational would be, if two people are committing a crime, and one dies in the process, the other traditionally gets charged for their murder. The problem is, they were not committing a crime. Meanwhile, this ICE agent defied their own training to commit a murder.

[–] pennomi@lemmy.world 79 points 1 day ago (3 children)

This kind of headline just gives validity to them by amplifying their craziness. Simply NOT reporting instead of taking the ragebait is the correct action.

DON’T FEED THE TROLLS is truly lost wisdom.

[–] CubitOom 24 points 1 day ago (2 children)

If your enemy is saying, I'm going to kill you, take it as a legitimate threat, not an empty one.

I don't like spreading their talking points, but it is helpful to know what they are talking about, because at the moment, they have the momentum, the power, and the drive to follow through with their threats.

Podcasters are running the American Regime right now.

Saying that this is ragebait and that the all government leaders are trolls won't make their threats go away. However it will make us more complacent and more accepting of their horrendous behaviour.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 2 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

As an autistic, it was good to know that I am on RFK's "wellness" agenda, even if that makes me unhappy. Knowing ahead of time is what solidified my decision to learn how to use a gun.

The article may be rage bait, but it may convince women and LGBTQ+ to prepare for a fight. Anger that overcomes fear, may allow the innocent to resist the predations of evil.

[–] pennomi@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago

What I’m saying is that you don’t publish a news article about it, you arrest the person for making threats.

All this kind of article does is spread their talking points.

[–] just2look@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 day ago

I disagree. How it is reported on needs to change though. These things need reported, but not as serious or justified actions. The reporting needs to explain exactly why these calls are illegal, immoral, fucking cartoonishly evil. Name drop, call out the fascists. Journalists need to actually stand up for something.

Normalizing the fascists insanity needs to stop. The need to be unmasked, mocked, ridiculed.

[–] _druid@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago

It doesn't deserve the platform or the dissemination.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

Shes gay. That's all the reason they need

[–] starik@lemmy.zip 29 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Felony murder. If someone dies in the commission of a felony, even if it’s one of your accomplices and an accident, they can charge you with felony murder in the US. This might just be some right wing influencer mouthing off, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility if they decide they can charge her with a felony in relation to whatever she did at that traffic stop. The administration seems to be trying to provoke violence as a pretext for something, and this could be a means to that end.

Posobiec is the Pizzagate guy btw

[–] 5715@feddit.org 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They need the heightened attention of internal conflict to mobilise against their perceived enemies. Given that the US Left seems figuratively disarmed, the fascists thus try to carry the conflict to their every doorstep by endless provocation. I don't think the US Left can do anything to prevent being painted as the initiator of a coming conflict, so I guess they should try to set their own shareable goals apart from stealth, to survive.

[–] starik@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They definitely want someone to kill one or more of these ICE guys. They’re too dumb to realize they’re bait.

[–] Aljernon@lemmy.today 6 points 1 day ago

I think they no longer care. Trump and the regime get away with everything they do. They do whatever they want now.

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 6 points 1 day ago

It seems very unlikely she committed any felonies in this encounter but that may not stop them from filing charges anyway.

[–] logicbomb@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

You're confused because the two people who expressed these opinions, Posobiec and Bannon, do not expect their audience is capable of thinking rational thoughts.

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 13 points 1 day ago

Not the headline in this case, it's how stupid the concept is.

In short, Felony murder is if you are commiting a crime and someone dies, you are held liable for it. In some cases it's half reasonable (Lets say if 2 guys go to rob a store, shopkeeper shoots one of the robbers, the surviving one is considered responsible for the death). But in execution it often leads to some horrificly stupid decisions like, say someone borrows a friends car, uses it in a crime in which someone dies... the damn friend can be responsible even if he had no idea of the plot or the crime that was intended, simply because he in some way provided something that was used in the crime.

and yeah here, it's basically depending on maga's extremely stupid interpretation that Renee Good just was going out looking to cause trouble for ice and tried to run one over. Which so far seems absolutely BS, everything seems to point to she was just driving back from dropping her kids off, got flooded with contradictory orders from the keystone cops, who shot her for being nice in the fray of it.

It's bullshit on 200 levels, but at least trying to interpret what the bullshit argument that's attempted to be made. If you grant all the bullshit claims made by this administration, and you accept this bullshit law felony murder that's rife with misuse and full of unintended horrific consequences, and you squint, you can vaguely make out something resembling an arguement for it. (again that's in a fictional world where you are dumb enough to believe what this administration says happened, over all the actual video of the events that blatently contradicts it.

Can we please always identify Epstein confidant Steve Bannon as Epstein confidant Steve Bannon?

Accelerationist piece of shit is the epithet I'd add to his name

Mental acrobatics. Mental Cirque du Soleil, if you will.

Her death was correct and justified, and someone who didn’t kill her should be held responsible?

[–] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 42 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not the guy who stepped calmly aside and executed her?

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 6 points 21 hours ago

Absolute scum of the Earth. Every single one of them.
