Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

I'd argue that Trump being hit by a missile attack would IMPROVE the USA national security.

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmy.world 4 points 19 hours ago

Anyone with an IQ higher than their shoe size agrees

Fuck that. President starts a war that results in missiles falling on DC he can go down with the ship.

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Add the cost of ripping it up to the cost of restoring the white house for the next admin. Start with restoring the rose garden and getting the vegas decorations out.

Take it out of his fortune. Triple damages.

And that's just for starters. He's going to pay to rebuild Iran out of his own pocket.

[–] MousePotatoDoesStuff@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

And compensate the Epstein victims and/or their families (whichever applies).

Although he can share the bill with other Epstein collaborators and clients on that one. Nationalise their entire estate - or whatever similar procedure would make sense here.

The Trump-Epstein Scrotum of Terra-Interred Security, or TESTIS.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

you guys are trying to protect them?

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 4 points 1 day ago

He's trying to protect himself, family and staff optional.

[–] KissyCat@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

I am seriously not the least bit concerned.

[–] tehn00bi@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Leave it a fucking hole in the ground.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He should move into the hole.

[–] tehn00bi@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

I’d rather he get a burial at sea.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Nah, Im not worried about missiles at all. Do it ... I dare you.

You show the world how tough you are Donald. You're too manly to hide behind armor.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

We could have a referendum on how important it is to taxpayers to protect Trump from missiles. Maybe a simultaneous one for shooting one at him.

[–] Redvenom@retrolemmy.com 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The other option was for Him to stop being a douche but that is not possible

Genetically impossible to do.

[–] mercano@lemmy.world 125 points 2 days ago (2 children)

There was already a bunker under the East Wing. If Trump chose to bulldoze it, that’s his own doing.

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 57 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Yeah sounds like this is the perfect time for a missile attack. God damn he’s stupid

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago

Don’t shoot the enemy when they’re beating themselves.

Look, there's got to be a rational explanation for this. Have you considered the old East Wing bunker might have just been haunted as all fuck? Who knows what horrible atrocities past presidents committed down in that dungeon! Who knows how many hookers Nixon tortured to death down there. How many old captured Nazis did Eisenhower personally flay alive in that basement? How many girls did Clinton simply have disappeared down there? That placed was probably cursed long before Trump got there. The only way to get the bad juju out was to completely tear it down to bare soil. It's no good as a defense bunker if you get torn apart by ghosts when you try to seek shelter there!

"I can't be expected to live in this glass house. Not after all these rocks I've been throwing."

[–] BillCheddar@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Maybe we could reshape the ballroom to look like a bone spur?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 day ago

It won't even be started before Trump pops his clogs.

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 65 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (8 children)

As if we needed any further confirmation that the bunker beneath it was the actually important part of the project.

(Can we please ensure that the bunker is stocked with at least one Luger pistol? For tradition's sake.)

[–] mememuseum@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Hitler shot himself with a Walther PPK

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Does Donald have aspirations of finally becoming a painter as well?

Well how else will he wine and dine the new Iranian leaders?

[–] homes@piefed.world 73 points 2 days ago

well, now, I've never been more against it

[–] Brkdncr@lemmy.world 65 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Bunkers don’t need ballrooms.

Includes an EMP proof bar and a leaded shielded VIP room.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 2 points 1 day ago

I think they ate the lead.

[–] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Will this $600m ballroom be finished before the end of president?

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The 1.6 billion ballroom will probably not be finished, but the money is somehow gone.

[–] skozzii@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I dunno, 2.2 billion for a ballroom seems like a great deal.

[–] partofthevoice@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yeah, almost a steal at 3.6 billion. I can’t believe they got such a good deal. They’re practically saving trillions.

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I’m sure the Trump family are comfortably provided for, somewhere in that $4.1B

[–] ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago

You've got to spend a trillion to save a trillion, so they say.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

No,the 800 million dollar facility won't be finished in time for that

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 39 points 2 days ago

Sounds like quite the waste of money then.

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Imagine being the poor bastards stuck in there with him. The smell alone ... !

[–] Iusedtobeanalien@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago
