I would absolutely hate it.

[–] Dani_vic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Even though I am not a fan of Caleb Williams.. I would be excited. Best rated QB and LT. How can you complain.

[–] tendy_trux35@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Oh god oh fuck are we REALLY starting with mock drafts already!!?! FFS I feel like we dealt with these mock draft posts for 5 months straight last season into the draft

[–] Nervous-Awareness482@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Welcome to a rebuild with a franchise who likes to have a total lack of continuity between their drafts and head coaching hires.

[–] generatorland@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'd feel like we'd be in roughly the same situation we are now.

I'd also feel like we missed out on a generational WR to pair with DJ Moore but, hopefully, getting better at tackle.

[–] Medium_Light8980@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Caleb Williams will be a bust! Do not draft him!

[–] thebarbarain@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I honestly don't want Caleb. I'd prefer drake maye or another QB. Caleb gives off diva vibes and has same issues fields has.

My dream draft is to trade back the #1 pick to #2 or #3 and trade that as well.

MHJ is the pick I'd like the most but this WR class is STACKED.

I say fuck it and run with fields one more season if we follow my plan. Well have such a wealth of young talent be competitive for years to come (with new coaches obviously).

Our biggest issue as a team is flus and getsy. We're not winning a SB with justin or any other QB in this system. Let's get a stacked team, better coaches, and if we need a QB in 2025 draft we take one to where they come in to a wealth of talent and don't waste pivotal time on a shit team

I'll take it and understand why we made the picks, but I wouldn't be happy with it. We need to find a way to MHJ

"How would you feel if the Bears got an incredibly well regarded prospect at two of the most important positions in football"

This sub: Eh....pretty lousy....

Does Arizona already have a left tackle? I know Bowers is also a great prospect but I thought Arizonas OLine was trash. I feel like we’d be left with Joe Alt since I doubt we’d take Bowers when we have Kmet

[–] Gweena@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wouldnt worry about it too much: Murray coming back will get them a few Ws.

Cards wont be at 3 for long.

I would be doing back flips and back to drinking the Kool aid

[–] Schrodingers_Nachos@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We do that every year anyways.

[–] 2057Champs__@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Happy happy joy joy

I'm a big believer that Carolina will not be #1. If you watched NE or the Giants play the past couple weeks you'd know they are terrible and have every reason to tank at this point. The Panthers are trying to get better and play the entire NFC South (all very winnable games).

I predict we'll finish with #3 (via CAR) and wherever the Bears finish. Ideally, we take MHJ + a top tier OL or we take the top ranked DL/DE. MAYBE we end up taking Penix out of Washington. He looks like a potential stud that isn't getting the same amount of hype as Maye and Williams. I think GB, LV, or the Jets may take him though.

I’d prefer MHJ and Olu at those picks personally. We are more than a QB away from competing. QB is also the most expensive position so build up all other positions then get the QB. That’s how the Chiefs got their championships. Built it up and got QB last in Mahomes

[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Extremely disappointed

[–] PantPain77_77@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Caleb is only 6’ 1? Didn’t we learn our lesson when we realized grossman was too short?

[–] InsideHangar18@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

This is totally unrealistic, why wouldn’t the Pats take a QB?

[–] Gleasonryan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The mock draft from tankathon just looks what draft number and who is the prospect at that number. It doesn’t take into account what the teams actually need.

Upset that we took someone with 'bust' written all over him with the #1 overall.

[–] Upset_Researcher_143@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I would not like this. Especially if we keep the current coaching staff.

[–] Robertosaur@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly, not well. I would like to see some investment in the Dline. If that means we trade down, then so be it. I think we take MHJ, trade down, take an edge rusher.

[–] Historical_Carpet_46@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Looks fine to me. Sure it’d be nice to have mhj and Caleb has some question marks but he’s still a great QB prospect and Olu is the best LT in the draft so assuming we pick up a decent center that’d be a solid oline to put a rookie qb behind

Wouldn't hate it but would feel weird to take Olu given our needs elsewhere

[–] Illustrious-Craft789@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Trade up to 2 with NY, if they want the kid from UNC he will still be there at 5 guarenteed.

[–] pbrassassin@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] Caffeine_Cowpies@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah…. I don’t want another #10 from UNC.

[–] GrdiSr@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

There is a portion if this sub that will hate this, but reality is, this is the most likely scenario as things stand now. If we have a top 2 pick, it will be a QB (yes, Fields has 7 games to 'prove it' but odds of him doing enough to not take a qb are very very slim). Throw in if we move on from Flus and bring in a new coach, odds of QB are even higher yet.

I could see a trade down with the 2nd pick if Poles wanted to go DL or another WR if he decides to role with Jones at LT.

very, very good

[–] MeaningConstant27@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Like a damn fool

[–] FireUpChips20@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

1.1. Trade to patriots for 1.3 and 2nd rounder 1.3. MHJ 1.5 Fashanu 2.3 (from patriots) McCarthy

Hire Harbaugh and let him continue to grow McCarthy with a rebuild O line and the best offensive weapon in the draft paired up with DJ Moore.

Profit

[–] Chi_BearHawks@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'd rather have MHJ at #1 overall. Like the #5 pick, but feel like we might end up with the 6-8th by the time the season is over.

[–] Professional-County1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’d feel okay about it. I wouldn’t really expect it but I’d take it lol. I do expect some trades and I think maybe the Giants trade back. Maybe they still fully believe in Jones and blame their line, so they trade back a bit to take someone for the offensive line? Then maybe the Pats get in the top 2 to take a QB or they trade back to take another QB. Maybe we sneak up a few spots for MHJ, accept someone else or trade it away all together

[–] KY_PeanutButter@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I feel like we are stuck in a loop of drafting good QB prospects and throwing them into a meat grinder. Why not just make the rest of the team undeniably talented through the draft capital we have and when it’s truly window time make a move for a QB if we still see it to be the problem?

Our window won’t be small we are very young across the board.

[–] MaximumMasterpiece22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Trade down with Pats for 2025 1st and take МHJ. Draft 1st overall in 2025

[–] PerscribedPharmacist@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I only like this if Flus is fired at the end of the year.

[–] Bob_Horde@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Genuinely shocked at the amount of people in this thread who somehow think the first 2 picks aren’t going to be qb.

[–] TheDiano@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] generation_D@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This draft is basically my dream scenario except we need to hire a new coaching staff first. If we hire say Ben Johnson and he prefers Maye over Williams for the offense he plans to run, then Maye should be the pick at #1. After that I would love to get MHJ but it’s looking unlikely that he’ll still be there for our next pick. Fashanu would be a great consolation prize.

Bad for Caleb Williams

[–] pea_tear_griffin1738@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Surprised that it happened in November

[–] JeffsDad@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] Arro@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I live in Oregon and just went to the Oregon vs USC game on Saturday. Caleb Williams is really good. I was super impressed... and I was expecting to think he stunk.

[–] Dilsauce@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If we skip on both Bower & MHJ, I think I’m finally done

[–] Material-Race-5107@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Too many questions with fields. I say this draft looks fine. Give us a fresh QB with a competent coaching staff and we might be cooking in a couple years. We are a QB and 1-2 pieces per side of the trenches away from looking elite. I like this draft setup
