Not so fast my advantageous-minded friend, PJ Walker’s Revenge Game is nigh

[–] buttxstallion@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They said they're starting dtr for the rest of the season

[–] Fieldsszn2023@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They’ve also been pretty QB-proof, that defense teeing off against us scares me

[–] Fit_Beautiful2638@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I think that's a winnable game for us now.

Along with Packers and Cardinals it's not crazy to think we get to 6 wins and our pick is more top 10 (not top 5)

[–] ExcitingCondition484@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Unless you‘re going “any given Sunday,” the Cards are the only “winnable” game on this schedule. The bears had Jordan Love looking like a future HOFer in week 1. And the only reason I give them a chance against the Cards is because it’s a home game in December against a warm weather dome team.

[–] ImEvadingPermaban@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This gives us a punchers chance -- the guy we really need to worry about is Myles Garrett.

[–] RetiredTurdFarmer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Unless the defense is also out I'm still a bit worried.

[–] DandierChip@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Remember that they beat the niners without Deshawn. The team overall is still really good and has great coaching.

[–] GeicoFrogGaveMeHerp@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Deshaun Watson honestly does more harm against them than good. The stats back it up too. He is awful this year.

[–] Zealousideal_Abies94@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The weather beat the niners.

[–] Dani_vic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Have you seen their defense?…

[–] Ok_Expression1800@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

we would need to commit 3 people to blocking Myles Garret every down.

[–] dtdude87@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah their defense might put score our offense. It would probably have been better if turnover machine Watson played.

[–] y_wont_my_line_block@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

PJ Walker revenge game.

[–] duhbears23@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Their defense will kill us especially justin holding the ball for 5 seconds a clip

[–] alexamerling100@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Their defense is still super bowl caliber bro.

[–] CamiloArturo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Well…. They could trade for Justin Fields 😁. To be honest it doesn’t seem like a bad choice for them

[–] sonicsean899@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

But they have too much money wasted on a mid QB. Because he was good checks notes 4 years ago.

[–] AMollenhauer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

lol, Fields is going to self-destruct against their defense.

[–] DashTheBison@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Myles Garrett will work to match Khalil Mack's 6 sack game earlier this year, and Justin will do everything he can to help him achieve it.

Why would we care about winning this game or any game this year? I’m lost here. The seasons been done

[–] bipolarcyclops@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yea. 2023 is toast. Time to start planning for 2024.

[–] baccus83@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I mean it’s still nice to win a game once in a while, right?

[–] PortillosBeef27@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

To want wins for the simple reason of winning, and not considering what it might mean long term for the future of the team, to me, is a terrible take as a fan of this team. Winning more games can only do harm, and the top reason is it could give incentive for them to keep this terrible coaching staff, the second is that we get a lower draft pick. There is nothing in me as a fan of 20+ years, that wants a win against the browns more then I want the future success of the team

[–] Dapper-Anywhere-4963@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

A terrible take as a fan is to hope the team you spend hours watching and hours of media consumption on losses. Winning usually means good reps and good winning reps is what this team needs.

[–] PortillosBeef27@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

As of right now I am not actively rooting for them to win or lose. I just accept it for what it is and it’s bad and I don’t want to see mediocrity entertained. I’m only focused on the future at this point

[–] ebbik@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Hard disagree. I don’t find any joy in rooting for my team to lose and refuse to wait 10 months to do so. Winning will not only harm us: we can increase FA appeal if we don’t roll over two seasons in a row and show some grit.

To me, rooting for your team to lose because they MAY be better in the future is a terrible take. You assume that losing to the Browns has anything to do with the team’s future, despite the organization not showing you any reason to believe this.

[–] OpneFall@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You're asking why Bears fans care watching the team win a game?

[–] Elros22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We're in a great spot. We can try hard, build morale, win games, and still get a top 5 pick. At WORST (best) our actual pick will remain top 10.

I see no reason the team wouldn't try to win out the season. Players want to win - and any win today will pay off next season.

[–] smile_drinkPepsi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

PJ Walker revenge game

[–] Chicago_Stringerbell@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Watson has been terrible this year, so this isn’t much of a loss.

[–] Anstavall@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We still have to deal with their defense

[–] SlimmSavages@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Was it preseason someone remind me the last time we played the browns? MG literally had what 4 sacks

[–] sonicsean899@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Losing 2023 Dashaun Watson is a blessing for the Browns. Plus unless Myles Garrett is out our offense will do nothing. We'll lose like 10-3

[–] OkayOpenTheGame@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Cleveland might be on the menu to trade up for a QB lol

Not sure where they'd get the capital though

[–] MikeDoss2@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They still have an elite defense. They went what, 3-1 with PJ Walker ?

Keep that one as a loss boys

[–] pyledriver21@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We might score 3 points

[–] qjh7677@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Gotta slow down that pass rush
