I agree with a lot of what you said except for screens making sense. You're much better going slightly vertical quickly with a slant or a short post. Throwing horizontal is ok once or twice (not 20+ times) but usually you'll want to use a short vertical route against the blitz when dumping the ball to an escape valve. Rodgers did that to us often in his better days and it killed our D.

Do I think they might try it? Maybe
Do I think they should try it? Not a chance in hell.
Can we also appreciate he's a local boy who grew up WANTING TO BE ON THE BEARS! It's not like he's a player who happened upon us and we are lucky to have him. If you watched his draft, his Mom was crying because she knew this was his dream. He showed up, put in the work, and is balling out. If you are wondering what modern player jersey to buy, Kmet should be at the top of your list.
This is the time we should basically just run out the clock by running up the middle for the chip shot FG. Let's wait to see how we fuck this up
I'm not sure that's a catch. One hand looks under but the other looks to be on the side and then the ball gets trapped by the ground. Be interesting to see a better replay
3rd and short!!!! Getsy is salivating
Edit: sweet buttered biscuits, it wasn't a screen!
Do we take a shot every time our first tackler fails to wrap appropriately?
Play calls like this and meatballs are still going to be saying "sEE FieLds SuCKs"
Fields needs to show continued consistency but he has improved pretty noticeably:
Completion %: 58.9 (21), 60.4 (22), 62.7 (23)
TD's per game: 0.58 (21), 1.13 (22), 1.71 (23)
TD %: 2.6 (21), 5.3 (22), 6.5 (23)
Int %: 3.7 (21), 3.5 (22), 3.1 (23)
Passing Success Rate: 38.2% (21), 36.7% (22), 40.3% (23)
Passing Yards/Game: 155.8 (21), 149.5 (22), 195.7 (23)
QB Rating: 73.2 (21), 85.2 (22), 93.3 (23)
Just a reminder the Packers also don't get the conditional upgrade to the Jets pick since Rodgers didn't play enough.
I think he should be gone. I also am realistic that they could scapegoat someone to buy time if Poles is tethering himself to Flus. That being said I don't think it's Fields like many others have said. I think it will be Getsy. They could point to the defense finally beginning to trend up and the offensive playcalling as the weak point.
If that happens I don't think they'll go QB in the draft. I know people will say "but Fields isn't Poles guy". That argument doesn't hold up. Poles could have pulled the plug on Fields last year when we had the #1 overall. He didn't. He opted to trade the pick away and build around Fields. I think he'll get pressure to continue to build the team up around Fields for one more year if he decides he wants to retain Flus. The organization would need to have the flexibility to give the next GM/HC the ability to pick a new QB if the plan fails next year instead of saddling them with CW or Maye. That would be repeating history.
There's a portion of the community who has differing opinions but are respectful about the conversation, offering up thoughtful points and data/objective information. Thank you to these people, even if we disagree at times. Unfortunately, there's also a portion of the community who is more volatile, actively spreading their opinions as facts and outright trolling constantly. I noticed a lot of these accounts are burners that are less than a year old, and many times it seems likely they are vote manipulating (replies buried deep in threads days old get multiple up/downvotes within minutes). All of these factors cause more volatility within the sub and make it harder to have good dialogues.
I think the mods should consider making rules to address the occurrence of these burner accounts. Maybe target accounts that are under a year old and offer an option to report these specifically for trolling or unusual behavior. By better controlling the abuse of burner accounts, we won't all agree on everything but we might be able to move the sub towards more meaningful and respectful conversations.
