I watch shows in streaming on links found in the megathread and suddenly subtitles aren't working anymore? How does it work behind the scenes? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Thanks 🙏

from +972’s Sunday Recap
972 Magazine [published in Israel]
Sept 28, 2025

Microsoft has terminated the Israeli army’s access to technology it was using to store vast troves of intelligence on Palestinian civilians in the West Bank and Gaza, Yuval Abraham reported. The decision followed an exposé last month by +972 Magazine, Local Call, and the Guardian revealing how Unit 8200, the Israeli army’s elite cyber warfare agency, was housing recordings of millions of intercepted phone calls by Palestinians on Microsoft’s cloud platform, Azure.

I've been in this situation a few times where I have something hanging out the hatch of a car. Often, there isn't really anything to hold the hatch down. But at slightly open positions like this, the handle for the hatch is perfectly oriented to clip a bungee cord on and hold it down.

Is this just a coincidence? Maybe. Still pleased me when strapping it down in the parking lot

I do wish there were actually a hook of some kind, though, for when it's significantly more open. Not that I've actually needed that.

One of India’s first modernists, Jamini Roy developed a unique aesthetic that balanced traditional Indian iconography and materials with Western sensibilities. Roy studied under the renowned artist Abanindranath Tagore at the Government College of Art and Craft in Kolkata and learned to paint in an academic style. As a young man, he became a successful portraitist, regularly receiving commissions for impressionist-style paintings. Inspired by the rise of Indian nationalism, Roy eventually abandoned Western artistic styles in favor of the flat compositions and naturally derived pigments of traditional Bengali folk art, calligraphy, and temple decoration. He combined these with modern, graphic lines in his paintings of figures, animals, and mythological scenes. Roy’s works can be found in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, among others.

WAN show is typically something that I listen to in the background while doing other things throughout the weekend so I didn't necessarily pickup on it until, after the sponsors, when Linus said "You looked really mad at one point during that, do you need to talk about it?" At a certain point it did seem that Dan and Luke were talking in circles a bit but it seemed like a fairly normal conversation, to me.

From what I gather, Luke's initial recoil at buy-now-pay-later has been tempered by talking to some Swedes and seeing how they have a different approach/culture around it, and Dan's position was that the nature of Klarna as a buy-now-pay-later service encourages poor spending habits in a greater way than credit cards necessarily do, even if ultimately they are functionally the same.

Was there a component of the conversation that I may not have picked up on?

Dracula is a 1931 American pre-Code vampire film directed and co-produced by Tod Browning from a screenplay written by Garrett Fort and starring Bela Lugosi in the title role. It is based on the stage play Dracula by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston, which in turn is adapted from the 1897 novel Dracula by Bram Stoker.
